20 or 32 ILD FBM Latex for a Middle Layer?

Hi All,

I posted previously asking about using what PU foam suggestions people may have as a middle support layer for my modded Select Comfort bed.  Currently, the set up is 3" of Isoform 5# MF under the pillowtop, followed immediately by the air baffles.  I originally had the original PU 1" layer underneath the top layer of MF, but found it to be ~too~ cushy.  I removed it and now it feels nice, but would like a little more support underneath the MF.

I was originally thinking a 2.5" layer of LUX (50 ILD) convoluted foam from FoamByMail, but after reading through past posts over the weekend, I'm convinced Latex is the way to go for the middle layer, in the same way some airbed manufacturers configure their beds (including FloBeds).  I'm thinking 2-3" of 32 ILD may be what I'm looking for, but am worried 32 might be too firm, while 20 ILD may be too soft.   Essentially what I'm looking for is a nice, supportive layer to lie in between the MF and the air bladders - I don't want something so firm it prevents the air bladders from working efficiently, but nothing too soft which causes us to sink into it.

Thanks in advance for any advice/opinions you may have!
