Budgy thanks for all the helpful posts.

Some questions from me.

1  Which latex lasts longer and which one does not sag?

Synthetic talalay or Natural talalay?

2.  what is the softest dunlop latex? who is making it?

3. For me I am having low back pains.

Should I be choosing synthetic talalay or natural talalay

or dunlop latex?

Thank you budgy

Please do keep in mind that I can only answer these questions based on my own and my customers varied experiences.

1.  Natural rubber is more elastic than SBR (styrene butadiene rubber).  In theory,...

Here are a few more that may be well worth looking at. I didn't have that many close to Columbus (mostly Toledo and Cincinatti) but OMF (1st one) would be well worth going to as they have very good value.

http://www.originalmattress.com/locations Regional manufacturer with wide range including Latex and good value

http://www.clarebedding.com/dealers.asp Regional manufacturer that makes several brands including their own called Platinum Dreams. Very nice and worth checking to see if there is an outlet near you.

http://www.ashleyfurniturehomestore.com Manufacturer. Have Latex on poly mattresses that may be worth testing out

http://www.furniturerow.com/DenverMattressCo/ Manufacturer. Have 2 "mostly latex" mattresses that may be worth checking out (Aspen and Snowmass)

http://www.bedroomsfirst.com/whereweare.html Retailer. No all latex but may have some "part latex" for field testing. Probably wouldn't spend too much time here

Re: Searching for a mattress in Quad Cities - Phoenix

All the Denver sites are listed on their website :).

I didn't know that they had a "Snowmass plush" and was going to ask you if you had layed on the Aspen as I had asked in my last post but on a whim I called them and confirmed what I thought had happened. I talked to someone there that remembered you and your other half coming in and they confirmed that the other mattress you lay on there was the Aspen and that they don't have a "Snowmass plush" lol. The (rough) specs for both of these are on their website and the Aspen is a much softer mattress on top. I would have preferred it as well and I'm glad you did lay on it as that helps to confirm the direction for your "perfect mattress".

What the "store manager" told you about the...

Phoenix,

Wow....It's been a loooong day today!  Lol and I'm tired of looking at mattresses!  I hate car shopping cuz of all the sales pitches and that's how I'm feeling today...especially after looking last week!  lol  I took my dh with me today and he started out sort of non-chalant...sort of dont really care attitude and told me he could sleep on a rock so just take my time and try and figure out what works for me.  Ok, so....the very first store we stopped at was Denver Mattress....I found out we had one right in Moline, IL...thanks to dh....he knew, I didnt.  Anyways, I laid on the Snowqueen/mass but within 5 minutes my right shoulder was hurting pretty bad so switched over to my back, also hurting, so I got off and walked around a bit....My husband did tell me that my spine looked aligned...

Denver Mattress stuck between their 2 latex mattresses - jormar23

I went to Denver Mattress and I like both mattresses they have, one is called the aspen and the other is the snomass.  There is only a 200.00 price difference.  Which one of these would be the firmer one.  I really cannot tell, I have been laying on so many matttesses lately.  These 2 feel the same to me.  Has anyone have any experiences with either of these mattress, or know which one is firmer.

Thanks

Love our new Talalay latex mattress from The Foam Factory!! - Freedom1955
May 15, 2011 7:40 AM
Well we needed to replace our 13 year old Simmons mattress because my lower back was killing me if I slept on my back and if I tried to sleep on my side my shoulder ond hips would be sore. My wife didn't have a problem with it though. She is 95 lbs. and I'm 230 lbs. She also told me she could sleep on anything so all I had to do was find a mattress that I could sleep on that eliminated my lower back pain and the shoulder and hip pain.

I investigated matresses and discovered latex. I spent many hours on the computer learning about latex. Eventually I had latex samples sent to us. We also checked out Tempurpedic and various other mattress options at Denver Mattress co. Many of the latex mattress companys products were very expensive but I decided that a pain free...

New & desperately need advice re: adding layers on top of painfully firm Beautyrest - sleepymom
Jul 6, 2011 1:15 PM
I'm a newbie and am desperate.  My husband and I are now on our 3rd mattress from Macy's, and we get no more preference changes. We first had Simmons Beautyrest Black, which had poor quality memory foams that provided no support whatsoever, and our backs hurt because we sank too much.  (We do NOT recommend the Beautyrest Black!). On our third, and final, selection, we went with a Simmons Beautyrest Elderberry Tight Top Firm, even though the saleswoman said we'd need a topper b/c it is so firm.  She was right.  Alone, it is like sleeping on concrete, so it ends up being like a box spring.  (It has no give even if we jump on it).

We initially added a 1.5" geo cut "Memory Foam Bed Topper by Beautyrest" that I bought at Bed, Bath & Beyond.  It was too soft of a topper anyway, and did...

Re: Simmons Comforpedic Rava, Indigo Point Gel or Serta iComfort prodigy or revolution?? - nmaschek1

I've laid on every mattress from every store in my metropolitan area and I always come back to the Comforpedic Loft Indigo Point Gel.  At Denver mattress, it's called the Marekerk Gel, but still has the same center third Gel as the Indigo.  It's also called the Dulwich Plush and Southwark at other places on the Web.  The only bed I would prefer is the Tempurpedic Cloud Luxe.  But that's 4 grand for a queen, plus it'll probably sag over time as what reviews say about Tempurpedic.  I haven't heard anything about sagging for the Comforpedic Loft's at all.  I also really liked the Memoryworks Olivewood Ultra Plush at Macy's.  But can't find any reviews or comparisons on the Web, and it also seems like it would be hot and sag over time.  I have to say that the Comforpedic would be the best value and comfort for the...
diy mattress arrangement? - redhookrr
Nov 19, 2011 9:23 PM
Hello been lurking here a while reading.  Finally getting around to a new bed and decided to go with a combination of reg foam and latex to start with.  Would like people's imput on what  they think of the arrangement that I am starting with.

First about me and wife.  both mostly side sleepers.  I am 5'11 and 250#  (not by choice work not helping that part) and wife is 5'2 and above 140.

Here is the arrangement I have decided to start with.  All from FBM

queen bed

base 4 or 5 inch of hd36-hq

then 2 inch of medium(ild 32) latex

and 1 inch of soft(ild20) latex

on top of box spring

Tryed some samples of latex from savvyrest that they sent.  thought that the 3 inches of...

16 Gauge Spring at 1080 coil density..Good or bad? - mnager
Nov 23, 2011 8:04 AM
Hello,

My wife and I are looking at buying a mattress from Denver Mattress Company. We are looking at this mattress

I ready that a most mattresses come in 12-15 gauge springs.

This says it has 16 gauge. Sohould I be nervous that it will not last or is it simply thinner because there are more coils (I am guessing there are really around 850 coils as opposed to the 1080 "coil density")

Thanks!

Matt
