Quick help with latex layers? - Inkling

I have a firm mattress- coil with extra firmness in lumbar region + 1" cotton and wool layer on top- and I need to create a comfort layer. I've had a lot of trouble with this in the past because I love a pillow top feel but need support in my lower back.
I'm primarily a side sleeper, 5'6", around 170 lbs., and was thinking of getting two 2" layers of 100% natural talalay. The top layer would be 19 - 20 ILD and the second layer would be 30 - 32 ILD. Keep in mind that I already have firm support from the coils.
How does this sound? I'm open to suggestions if you disagree with this configuration. Thanks!

Hi, i have lower back pain and rib pain since i changed my matress
Here is the beginning.
I slept in a spring mattress for about 10 years. Year after year, the area where i used to sleep sink little by little. all around my body.
I never had any back problem, any back pain problem since i was born
until one day, it was sinking too much, and i began to feel very little pain around my lower back.
I buy a firm mattress with many spring. I slept on it for 6 month.
If i sleep on my back, i have horrible lower back pain, with rib pain, and sore lower back and sciatica in right leg
So i slept on my couch for 4 month. My couch can transform into a bed. It has a thin foam matress. It was fine except the hip area because the foam
was to thin there. and later on,...

Hello Wildcougars,
I was suffered from same problem, then i use Titanfit mattress X30. It infused with 30 times more AquaMetal technology, not only helps you sleep better but also speeds up relief from body pain; and recovery from backache and injuries while sleeping. Titanfit mattress uses Urethane foam – a high quality, natural foam that is resilient enough to adjust to the contours of your body. This type of foam also provides breath ability and is highly durable. It can be used as an overlay over your regular mattress or on its own as a futon. ...

Hello all. I tried for some time to make an all latex mattress work for me, to no avail. I had a three layer configuration but just didn't care for the feel in the end. I was able to send all but one layer back, a 19 ild 3 inch 100 percent natural piece from Radium. I used the layer for a total of 3 weeks with a mattress protector on, so it's in pristine condition. I'm currently in the process of using thinner layers to dial in my comfort. ...

You probably have found a mattress by now, but if not, I have a few risk free options for you, without needing to go into overpriced retail stores.
Pocket coil based mattress are a good idea, supportive whilst allowing air flow to keep cool. (unlike memory foams etc) I would go for the Avocado Green Mattress. Not only ca you buy online direct from the manufacturer, but you can get a full refund if you don't like it for up to 100 days. (no return fees and free delivery) They use only 100% natural and non-toxic materials. There is also a plush topper available as an add on. Its affordable and handmade in the USA.
Although not a pocket coil mattress, I would also recommend the ZenHaven natural latex mattress. They are another online company who offer a risk free...

Most of us get confused when it comes to deciding on best mattress brand, even if it is buying offline i.e. at a retail store. You might have always wondered how to choose a best mattress available that is perfect for you. The sales guy at the store will pitch with typical “sales terms” which neither a customer nor he himself would understand because he most probably wouldn’t know nothing of the materials and processes used in the mattress manufacture. The world of mattresses is so complex that if you just Google the word “10 best mattresses”, a plethora of mattresses with fancy images and types will appear. I will probably need to get a degree to just understand the pros and cons of a mattress.

To choose the perfect mattress you need to also take into consideration the type of the mattress.
Consider one of the following mattress types:
Traditional coil mattresses—made from interior steel coils
Memory foam mattresses—made from polyurethane foams
Latex foam mattresses—made from foams derived from natural rubber
Hybrid mattresses—constructed with various types of foam and/or coils
Adjustable air—consisting of air chambers that can be inflated or deflated...
