I was at a factory today that makes "Englander" mattresses and got a chance to check out their all latex mattress in the wholesale showroom.   It also appears to be all natural dunlop from Latex Green.   He said their supplier is in "Shri Lanka". (?)    The mattress looked to be about 8 inches thick also and quite firm when I sat on it briefly.   No other details available as I had to leave  (work visit).   Perhaps the 8 inches is sufficient in dunlop latex.
Yes, Sri Lanka is where the Dunlop processed latex from Latex Green comes from; or so I've been told.
Is that just an 8" core, with nothing else on top of it? or what?
I would think that 8" of Dunlop would kill me if it's anything like the 1 and 3/4" piece of Medium I got from SleepEZ which I do believe they said was...
Re: Please help me figure out which FloBed to buy - KimberlyH

No idea where you're getting the 9" of cotton, but I agree that the best person to answer the question of "what Flobed should I buy" is the guys at Flobeds.  I have a Flobeds mattress, and yes, I called them, and yes, they recommended the V-Zone, and no, I didn't buy it (for one thing it was more expensive and for another, that v-zone layer was more complicated than I wanted to deal with).

I basically chose my mattress based on my budget, they don't have *that* many models.  I eyeballed them, picked a budget and bought the mattress that fit it.  I called them and discussed my height, weight, and sleeping position, they recommended firmness levels that ended up being pretty much spot on.

My mattress is made up of four layers of latex.  Three layers are roughly 2.75" each, and they are layered directly on top of each other. ...

You may want to check out sleepez mattress components.   Their firm dunlop is 38-40 ILD.  That might compare to xtra firm at most places, but if you call they might be able to get even firmer.  Their supplier is latex green, which is suppose to be pretty good.  Not sure if you can return components though, so you would have to check on that.   ...

The only latex bed I have ever seen that can justify a price close to that is the Green Sleep Vimala.  But based on what I just read about that Prana sleep there are MANY options priced at half the cost that are probably just as good or even better.  Flobeds certainly comes to mind as being one of them that a lot of people on this forum have tried with a lot of success....

On suggestions of eagle2 and KimberlyH, I'm starting my own thread. I hope my experience may possibly help someone else as I continue to receive help from all the wonderful posters on this forum.

Re: plushbeds (plushbeds.com) mattresses? Original Mattress Factory Latex? - katarina2000

From everything I have read, 10"+ is recommended for adults.  Does plush beds offer latex swapping?  How about replacements of just the latex?

I know companies such as Savvy Rest (which we purchased for our boys and now considering for us) and SleepEZ offer customized sides.....soft, medium, firm (with a wide range of IDL).  You can get an organic cotton & wool cover and 100% Dunlap latex (more eco friendly process, less bouncy) from Savvy Rest or Sleep EZ or with Talalay.  Sleep EZ uses Latex INternational, Latex Green etc.  Look at the difference of 100% natural or blended latex.  Savvy Rest uses Cocolatex.  Savvy Rest is the only company that has all the certifications on their website plus a chemical analysis.  Savvy Rest is a little more expensive upfront but replacements are much less expensive.  Sleep EZ is less expensive but replacing the layers over time is more expensive.  (Just...

Not all latex are created equally!  Check out makers and how they create their latex & what chemicals they use.

For example:

Sleep EZ...   100% natural latex made by LatexGreen:

"Fire Retardant Cores / Sheets

Latex Green has designed and manufactured a Flame Retardant mattress, which conforms to BS and EU Standards. On the tests carried out by SATRA Technology Centre, it was confirmed that FR mattress meet the requirements of Schedule I part III of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988, (amended 1989 & 1993).

In the first application during the test it was observed that there were NO flames after the removal of the flaming source and smouldering ceased after...

Coco-latex vs Latex Green? Any info? - katarina2000

We have been comparing product & prices of latex beds and we are interested in dunlap latex.  Which appears to be most eco friendly.  We also do not want latex/mattress/cover that has any chemicals that are meant to make the mattress flame retardant as we don't want to breathe all the off gasses for the 8-9 hours of sleep.  From research, the organic cotton & wool blend make the mattress naturally flame retardant plus the wool helps minimize bed bugs, not to mention that i makes the bed feel cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.  Also, bed bugs do not thrive on latex, thus less allergens.

I was curious to see compare prices on organic cover 10" king mattress....lets say from Sleep EZ vs Savvy Rest and it is a significant $500 difference.  So, I am doing a little more digging......this is what I uncovered so far:
