Really curious what it looks like and feels. Even at $1000, you still need the foundation and the bed frame or legs. So still costs $$$. But yes the latex layers are costly in themselves. Who actually is the manufacturer of the Dunlop, anyone know? Not too many companies left that make Dunlop.
I also wonder about the Sears dunlop mattress made many many years ago, what ILD it was, and if it has different layers. Anyone here had one?...

I have found that for me the all natural 100% botanically grown latex feels better as opposed to the blended product.
I believe the reason for this is the fact that the natural latex is denser. My one piece of blended is rated a 32 ILD firm. And while the surface tension of the latex is slightly firmer than the medium piece of all natural rated 28 ILD, when I am laying on it I have found, that for me, while they are quite similar, the natural has a more supportive feel due to the density of the material.
Therefore I have changed my bed back to an all natural configuration....

As Kimberly has indicated, she and I both have latex from FloBeds who does business exclusively with Latex International.
Her bed is made out of blended latex. Mine is made out of 100% botanically grown natural latex. I recently acquired...

If they won't help with an exchange or return, here are a couple of things you might want to try:
1. Encase the pieces in a good allergy mattress protector. That will seal in the smell as much as possible. If you could stand to sleep on plastic, you could first wrap them in light plastic which would more efficiently seal in the smell, then cover with an allergy zip-around cover. And then as someone else suggested, cover with your bedding on top, perhaps even several layers, such as a heavy mattress pad (and maybe some kind of mattress topper) and then more than one sheet. The more between you and the smell, the better I would think.
2. Note: this one is experimental and rather extreme, and I don't know if it will hurt the latex, but if you find you absolutely cannot use the pieces anyway and are willing...

so how did your client react to the tempurpedic causing more back pain than the cheap costco? or did you not completely level on that front? they can get passionate/testy when doing you a favor like that, then get the feeling you're not fully...

yeah i.d.k. how that's going to work out, because i've only read about toppers taking you softer. the only evidence i can think of that might support what we're trying is looking at spring mattresses. sealy for instance has their range of firm, cushion firm, plush, etc. & so long as you stay within the same class...

I have a broader question to ask about this bed + topper.
Concerns with the Costco bed seem to be that it might not feel firm enough - if that's the case, is it possible to increase the firmness with a topper? I've read about several instances of making a too-firm mattress feel softer and more comfortable with a topper; but I'm not sure if it can work the other way. If "not firm enough" means "not enough support" (does it?) than can you really increase that with a topper?
Thoughts?...
