Re: First bed build, looking to use high density foams, no memory, latex etc. - mattdud

You have to decide what best meets your requirements.  It does not seem that you are concerned about natural so blended would be ok for you.  As far as talalay vs. dunlop.  If you want it to last for a very long time go with talalay.  Since this is essentially just a topper then dunlop is a fine choice as well.  For my height and weight I would probably look for a 32 ILD which is just on the firm side of average.  Mattdud

@jimsocal I purchased a Botanical Bliss100% natural latex mattress from Plushbeds for my master bedroom. I do not have experience with returning it because I absolutely love it but I did do the free 100 day comfort exchange with Plushbeds on this mattress when I first received it and I have to say their customer service team is wonderful and they do go out of their way to make sure you are happy. I ordered a medium firm, not realizing that medium is better suited for side sleepers. After a few weeks of sleeping on the mattress, I called Plushbeds and told them I felt the mattress was too firm. They told me I am eligible for a free comfort exchange and they sent me a new top layer, in the softer firmness, for free. I unzipped the cover & replaced the old top layer with the new top layer...

Look at http://sleeponlatex.com/products/natural-latex-mattress-topper. The price is about half of what they sell these toppers for on Amazon, but there are very good reviews on Amazon, as well as their own website, i you want to read them. The company is very responsive, and they welcome calls.

I am buying the 8 inch Slumber 1 mattress from Walmart, and if I need a topper, I will be buying it from sleeponlatex.com because of those factors. Also, they offer a warranty, accept returns, prepaid return postage, and a large carton for return shipping. Go read the website. They certainly sound like they have integrity. :)

Best wishes!

Crib mattress - Need help! - StuHarrison82

Hi everyone, we are looking for a crib mattress for when our little one arrives!

We want something made from natural materials as much as possible - the less chances for allergic reaction and issues, and better for the planet :)

From our research so far we discovered you can get ones to flip over and continue to use once they grow into a toddler, That would be perfect so it wouldn't need replacing so soon.

We looked around online and found the Colgate Eco Classica III http://amzn.to/2m2rU1E and the Sealy Soybean Foam-core http://amzn.to/2m6lOtX

Does anyone have any experience with these 2 or any suggestions at all would be welcome!

Looking forward to hearing your advice!

The 10 Basic Formulas to Prevent Insomnia - bobby231
Apr 22, 2017 2:29 AM
There are 10 ways to get rid of insomnia -

1. Set a schedule.

The National Sleep Foundation recommends that you stick to a regular bedtime routine. That means going to sleep and waking up at the same time every day (yes, even weekends!). Try to avoid spending more time in bed than you need. Maintaining good light hygiene will help: Open the blinds or go outside as soon as you wake to get energized, and shut off all the lights (including electronics) when you go to sleep.

2. Eat well to sleep well.

The key to beating insomnia isn’t just in the bedroom—it’s also in your kitchen. Eat balanced meals throughout the day, and make breakfast your biggest. Digesting food requires energy, so if you eat a heavy meal late at night, your body will be hard at work digesting when it should be sleeping. Steer clear of greasy or fatty foods...

Well, I don't have an experience in buying a crib mattress. But, you should be careful in choosing a material that is comfortable for the child and also doesn't have any allergic reactions. You could go for organic cotton, untreated wool or natural latex....
Which ILD latex for our height and weight? - jaehoppa

I'm looking to buy a latex mattress very soon and I'm seriously looking at Flobeds 12 inch natural latex mattress due to their great reviews, great customer service, and high quality products.

I just need help deciding on the firmness level.

I'm 5'10" 150lbs and my wife is 5'6 120lbs.

We are both side sleepers and I prefer medium/average firmness while she prefers softer feel, which I don't really mind either.

I would rather keep both sides uniform. Do they split the layers anyway even if both side are identical? If that's the case I may try a different setup for each side..

I was looking at the ILD ratings for their natural talalay latex and it's 22(soft), 28(medium), 32(firm), 36(x-firm).

I was leaning toward going with soft-med-firm but I felt like the ILD difference between medium and firm is quite small compared to other companies so I'm thinking of...
