Why is the convoluted layer better for since sleeeers. I have not been able to find a concrete answer. And I feel my current bed with topper is too soft so I'm really confused why I would want to go softer...

A convoluted layer of the same ILD will feel softer since there will be more air and less material in the topper of the same depth.   So, for example it may actualy feel like a 14 ILD or lower if there are any lower.  I don't know the exact correlation but it will provide more cushion than a non-convoluted layer.  You could probably buy a 2" 14 ILD and it might feel about the same but the price is likely to be higher.  Some companies do use a lower ILD (Custom Sleep...

Anyone Heard of The Natural Bed Company In Ohio? - desmoface

They have a link to their site, aren't far from my home, and sell latex mattresses.

Unfortunately, my only other local option is the Original Mattress Factory, which includes a foam top layer on their latex mattresses.  Thanks for any replies.

Sometimes you just have to go with your gut and/or your budget.

I do not think SleepEZ uses LI latex - its european sourced. thats why the ILD ratings are different. I've tried both and there is definitely a difference in feel between the two, even of similar ILDs.

Re: Original Mattress Factory - Serenity Memory Foam - Rebec

Have added a latex topper to my Serenity foam mattress from OMF.  It has only been a few days, but so far so good.

The latex topper is softer than the firm Serenity mattress.  Just enough to relieve the pressure points where I was feeling chronic pain in

Lower back, hips, legs.  MAJOR improvement that I noticed immediately.  If your mattress is a bit too firm, a good latex topper may help.

Many mattress stores have displays that allow you to try.  Do research as much as you can.  Latex a bit pricier, but if the quality is better and it last longer worth the investment.

Update to my post 2/28/12

I have slept on my Serenity foam mattress from OMF with adjustable bed for 30 days.

I have chronic lower back, hip & legg pain.  It is a major improvement from my older mattress. I do not wake with as much pain as I did, but still have pain.

This mattress is a bit firm. Will probably purchase mattress topper to soften.

My recommendation would be to buy from retailer that allows you 90 days to exchange or return in the event you are not satisfied with the comfort of the mattress you purchase.  I do not have this option or would probably exchange or return. Each store has different policies, where you live OMF may allow you to exchange or return, where I purchased did not have this choice. Did not give it a thought, have...

Hey all, whats up?  I have been looking into getting a new matress for awhile now and I am having a lot of trouble coming to a conclusion, so I would like to thank you in advance for any help.

Here is the relevant info

- I am a musclar 200lbs

- More weight in hip area

- I sleep on my side and back

- I sleep hot

- I have a tempurpedic (unsure what model) now that sags at my hips when on my back, is too firm in the shoulder area when on my side, and is too hot

- I am not looking to spend over $1000 and would prefer closer to $700

- I am looking for a Queen size

A latex topper is a great idea; but if the bed isn't doing it for you, and is still returnable, it might make more sense economically to return it, get your money back, stay in your guest room for a while longer and keep looking. Some people love memory foam- I did for years.  Others love latex, and you can customize those mattresses or buy a Pure Latex Bliss or a few others in stores. You can find hybrids in places like the Original Mattress Factory. Or you may just prefer the feel of a spring or air mattress.  If you have another mattress, worn out as it is that still allows you to get a decent night's sleep, you've got time to get it right. You could be sleeping on it for 29,200 hours over the next 10 years.....

Confused- too many choices once you decide to go Latex! - asotuba

I'm sure many of you on this forum can relate-

My memory foam over poly-foam mattress I bought at least 18 years ago from BSleep is now worn out and my wife and I began a quest to find the perfect mattress for us. We loved the Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme and the similar iComfort Revolution mattresses and even bought one. But at that point we hadn't researched memory foam enough, and ended up canceling the order the next day, before delivery. In my many hours of research, I discovered that a pure latex mattress is the way to go. Besides the potential health issues of tempur material, after years of sleeping on it (OK- a clone) we grew tired of waiting for the foam to readjust whenever we turned at night, the heat, the smell, etc. Then we found out about Pure Latex Bliss and...

Thanks, actually i misunderstood flobeds policy- they don't switch out layer but you can buy a new one for only $75. not sure how that really fits in their 100 day guarantee though- i sort of don't like that. misleading--- you should make me happy w/in 100 days including giving me a firm...
