Re: Got my foam layers from SleepEZ - Leo3

Jim,
Yes, what work you did yesterday hurt your back bad, plus the stress of dealing of latex that you are not happy with affects your sleeping.

I hope Sleepeze respond and take care of you.  Sleeplikeabear was good to deal with, no I didn't order anything, but if I wanted talalay latex I would order from them.  Their website says they will order natural latex for you, they only stock blended latex.  Medium dunlop shouldn't feel like a rock I wouldn't think.  But one of my latex pieces from O-stock feels like a rock, I believe it is natural latex; but since I have not seen anything else but Talalay for sure I know the other pieces are not talalay, they are either natural latex, or dunlop.  Someone at the o-stock reviews thought it was from Latex Green, I don't know why they thought that.

Anyway, you know it takes a few...

the cover is made by Green Sleep.  I assure you although 350 is a pretty high price it is unlike any mattress protector you have likely ever seen.  although i personally like it more than any other more so from the flexability and comfort of it.  if you are sleeping HOT, then you should really look at a silk filled duvet, its basically just for people that sleep so hot they would rather have nothing over them, but are not comfortable without some weight on top of them.  there is not one person I haven't been able to correct the heat issues associated with Tempur Pedics with a good natural fill mattress pad and/or silk duvet.

Actually we just had a long term customer today come back and get some bedding from us, and he was absolutely raving about the silk duvet he got from us a year ago.  He...

Budgy - WOW! That sounds like a really great mattress! May I ask what the asking price is? Not that I am going to drive to Canada and bring it home from your store, but just to have an idea in case a friend wants to buy such a mattress. Do they have a web site?

That brings me to this question:
Although right now my mattress seems to be Great, with the Talalay layer replacing the HR foam I had there, I wonder if it might be even better (though I'm not likely to change it any time soon!) if I had a different box spring.

I am using my old Sealy box springs under my Englander springs/diy mattress. I never really felt that the box springs matter much, but I've heard it say that they can. I assume that if you had some really custom built mattress...

Just thought I would give you another reply on this one....I think if you want to get a really good quality American made mattress and mostly filled with cotton batting.  You really ought to check out a brand called Royal-Pedic.

http://www.royal-pedic.com/

One of their reps actually made a visit to my store to see if we would carry their product.  I have to say if I didn't have spacing restrictions at the moment I was ready to floor atleast a couple of their beds.  And some day I may re-consider the possibility.  I had access to their american pricing sheets, I think they would work out to be much better priced than a Shifman and are truly made to a very similar standard of quality.  I know that they have been regarded by many to be the best mattress made in the US.  They also make organic...

here is the beautiful thing about 3rd party certification.  http://greensleep.ca/pdf/rubber.pdf

this is an actual test sheet proving in this particular suppliers latex foam sample that there is zero styrene butadiene content.  and that based on their criteria for something to get certified as natural rubber would have to be less than 5% filler and 5% styrene butadiene.  in other words at least 90% puritiy, although in this case this company is really somewhere around 95%.  There is no 'secret' to the formula any of these companies use, they all use the same basic stabilization chemicals during transport (ammonia, sometimes naturally derived), and vulcanizing agents (ash, and zinc oxide).  This company fits my description of 100% natural rubber, primarily the absence of styrene butadiene, pending residual foaming agents this is the purest possible rubber you can get.

Please don't tell me you meant that there are only a handful of latex foam...

I know exactly what you mean about rolling to your stomach. It honestly does not happen much on this costco bed for me, but it used to happen a lot with my previous bed+latex topper. I have found that putting a thin layer of memory foam (1") is a big help in reducing the tendency to roll to your stomach. I would definitely give one a try before going through the hassle of returning, especially when you can get them from overstock.com (we got the greenish color 1" model) for well under $100. We are currently using it on top of our Costco latex bed now. it gives me the support I need, without too much rolling, and a little bit extra sink-in, to help reduce pressure on my shoulder. Side note... for anyone suffering from their arms falling asleep, your PILLOW can play...

Natalie,

when you first received the mattress....did you "break it In"...and what I mean by that is...did you jump on the mattress for about 10 minutes.  Tempurpedic has a closed cell structure and needs to be broken in very well before the foam can do its job of cushioning your pressure areas.  When I sold Tempurpedic...it was my advice to the client to have their kids jump on the mattress for a while with just their socks on to get it broken in for sleep.  If it is still too hard ...do not get the Rhapsody...that 7.0 means that it has a denser foam construction and will be firmer...the rhapsody has HD foam in it to make it one of the firmer of the Tempurpedic lineup.

I currently sale Strobel Mattresses...they feel like Tempurpedic but are made out of Polyfilax Soy and are a healthier choice because the...
