Hello all, you've all been so helpful since I've joined the site, I wanted to ask another question.
I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on an FBM mattress and have to choose between the "medium"
firmness (26-32 ILD) and "firm" firmness (32-38 ILD) for my core. I'm 6 foot 3 and weigh 220 pounds
but have read that there is not too much difference between the two options. Any feedback from those
who own these mattresses or those who are so well versed in these areas would be most appreciated.

I also wanted to check in about the quality of the latex foam from FBM. I've read through many threads in my
short time on this site and have read claims by some that FBM is selling a "sub standard" synthetic latex. Yet
there website says that it is 100 % natural talalay latex. Does anyone...

You can find a .9 inch Dunlop topper from foamorder.com, for about $125 (if you're looking for Dunlop). It's marketed under 'natural sense' latex....

Hi eagle2,
I've been going through some posts, including yours, and think I read in different posts (if I'm remembering correctly) that you were getting an all-dunlap bed, then that you ordered a combination talalay-dunlap, and now an all talalay flobed? Did you try the others or change your mind? Curious because it'd be great to hear your experience of the various ones.

I'm still working on my flo-beds set-up, which I hope I can make work (all natural talaly). Flobeds has been great to work with, excellent customer service.

Linda: Yes it has been a very convoluted experience. I will spare you the details as they are not pertinent to the questions you're asking, but rather have to do with business dealings, and not beds. But needless to say it has not been a fun trip getting from where I started to finally winding...
Just bought a new Flobeds - eagle2

I just purchased a new FloBeds. It is the 100% natural Talalay 4 layer mattresses. The top most layer being a soft egg crate 2" piece of Talalay.

I purchased the following configuration. On the left side of the bed I have a median top layer, firm middle layer, and extra firm bottom layer. On the right side the top layer is firm, the second layer is extra firm, and the bottom layer is extra firm.

I felt that this should give me an opportunity to switch the layers around and come up with the configuration that will work the best for my 6' 2"  210 pound frame. It has been quite a wrestling match, reading all the different descriptions that various people like, when it comes to firmness layers. You also run into this with some of the websites. No two people seem to consider this the same way....

First of all, I'd say go with the firmest core.<BR>Secondly, I'm no expert but as I see it, each latex manufacturer says their latex is the best. My guess is that all of them are &quot;about&quot; the same. And the only real way to find out which is &quot;Better&quot; (Because &quot;better&quot; is always a subjective experience in terms of how it FEELS to you) is to try them all. So I'd start with the cheapest one and hope I like it. That's my take on it. FBM seems to have the best prices, so I'd try it. One guy here I remember posting a few months ago, bought it and liked it just fine. Do a search on FoamByMail or Foam By Mail or FBM and see what comes up.

I guess I'm hung up on whether the latex is botanically derived or if it's synthetic....

Does anyone have (good / bad / indifferent) feedback about Oodles (Latex "noodles") --VERDICT is IN!!! - SKeeter

Hi everyone - I posted a question about this in the previous topic about toppers, but I thought it might get buried there. So I thought I'd start a new one since I'm specificaly interested in whether anyone has experience with Oodles products.

For a variety of reasons, i need a new mattress topper. I was thinking of getting the 2" latex topper from Overstock.com to see how it worked. But while searching tonight, I ran across these "Oodles" products. (Actually they appear to use the infinity symbol (\infty) instead of 'O's in the product name).

I've tested and LOVED shredded latex pillows for the loft and "down alternative" feel.  Apparently Oodles makes pillows AND toppers using latex pellets they call 'springs,' and some kind of natural corn fiber???. (I worry about allergies with the corn fibers... I wonder if there is any info on that anywhere...) I was curious if anyone...

Hi Everyone -

I've been lurking for awhile learning about latex beds, toppers, pillows, etc. I recently realized that a number of my health problems could be traced back to my older, yellowing memory foam topper. I took it off the bed trying to figure out if it was causing my indoor allergies, and it turns out it was causing both my husband and I problems - including aching joints, stuffy nose, night sweats for him; and chronic sinusitis, joint pain and a lot of respiratory congestion for me. I was surprised to learn it was the memory foam becuase we'd had it for a few years.  But these problems did develop and worsen gradually (we figured we were just getting 'older,') and the topper was yellowing, crumbling and looking increasingly decrepit these days. So my husband figured it was probably releasing more chemicals as it broke down - probably adding to...
