Nice design. It's a Lura-flex offset coil unit with a "pillow top" composed of six 3" thick blocks of Natural Talalay latex which can be arranged to provide firmer support in the middle third than the top and bottom.
Mattress prices start at $3800 for a king and go up to $7000. For that price you darn well better get the best quality stuff.
I do wonder why FloBeds doesn't offer something like this instead of their zone-on-point layer. It's possible that these folks have a patent on this design. I remember reading several patents that all had to do with various zoning techniques.
Edit: They have a lower-priced line that starts at $1800 for a king for an all-latex mattress, but the mattresses in this line aren't component mattresses, don't offer any configurability, and dont' offer the configurable pillow top.

This is going to start out as a smattering of links and quotes and pictures that I'm pasting in as I find them.
LINK: The premium foundation for the natural rubber mattress is the Flexible Slat Foundation, with thinner slats than the basic foundation. This slat system allows airflow on the underside of your mattress. The manufacturer covers the sides of this foundation with organic quilted cotton and wool to match the mattress.

LINK: A Euro slat foundation bed is a bed that uses wooden slats, rather than a traditional foundation to support a mattress. The Swiss invented this system 50 years ago over the years in Europe the technology has advanced significantly making it the most used sleeping system in the continent.

I would echo this sentiment. I was at a Relax the Back store and the saleslady laid me down on an adjustable bed and raised the head a bit, and the legs a bit, putting me into what she called the "Zero G" position, and it really was comfortable. When she laid me back down flat I felt like I was being bent over backwards. Flat felt positively unnatural! What turned me off was the price and the weight. If you think moving a mattress is hard, wait till you have to move about 300 lbs worth of steel adjustable base to the third floor of an apartment building.
I don't know if they are worth a hoot, but there is such as thing as an adjustable euro slat foundation. Not as fancy as a Leggett & Platt (the name in adjustable beds), but maybe worth a look if...

Re: Questions about LI Talalay latex cores - haysdb

I asked LI where they manufactured their Natural Talatech [1], and about the 5.6" and 6" molds [2], but not about the L & W dimensions of their molds.
The Cal King core that I just received today answers some questions while posing others. I ordered the core sliced into two 2.8" thick layers, and those layers cut in half "split king" fashion, for a total of 4 pieces each 36x84x2.6.

- There is only one mold number. This would seem to indicate that it's one core rather than two.
- There is only one label showing the results of the ILD tests taken at 9 different places on the core. This would also seem to indicate that it was manufactured as a single core. [4]
- There is one seam 6" from the end of each piece. This is a bit weird. I would expect 4" since a Cal King is 4" longer than a King...

A little info about my setup-Bed:SleepEZ 13000 (4 layers) in 100% Natural Talalay latex. After two night on my firm top latex layer (38-40ILD) my body was craving something soft. So, I decided to go back to my original top comfort layer, a medium latex layer(30-32ILD) but, instead of the second layer of firm latex I put my X-tra firm layer (44ILD).I figure this would give me the comfort I want with the extra support my body is craving as of late.I'll post after a couple of days of this setup.Jeff...

Looking forward to hearing how it goes! One of my fiber beds should be here tomorrow(The Ultimate Cuddle Bed Plus from Costco.) If I decide to keep it, I'll report back on how it works. Sigh...

I don't know if latex retains body heat, but some I laid on did seem to warm my back. They weren't covered in natural materials, like wool, cotton or cashmere, so I figured that had something to do with it. ...

Thanks for all the info.
I'm leaning towards going firmer rather than softer. Especially since I'm on the heavier end of the scale and I really want some decent support.
As far as memory foam goes, I really would like something more "natural", especially since I have a young son that often ends up in bed with us. (Even though we have the pillows.) As well, even though my partner likes the feel of memory foam, he really likes the durability of latex. (As in, not having to go through this process again soon).
Oddly enough, the hardest part for me is trying to decide which company to go with, not the idea of a kit itself. Well that, and how to configure the layers. I am going to be importing this bed into Canada, so I really, really, really don't want to do more than one exchange. Luckily, I live about...
