Thanks for rthe suggestion. I can not afford to play the trial and error game. I could get a Mattress Pad like this: Extra Plush Bamboo Fitted Mattress Topper -Queen Pad found here: http://www.amazon.com/Extra-Bamboo-Fitted-Mattress-Topper/dp/B008URGSWO/ref=sr_1_14?s=bedbath&ie=UTF8&qid=1443527201&sr=1-14&keywords=mattress+pad

Or go to a 2" Dunlop Topper like this: Pure Green 100% Natural Latex Mattress Topper - Soft - 2" Queen Size:

http://www.amazon.com/Green-Natural-Latex-Mattress-Topper/dp/B00UYG8F7U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1443526710&sr=8-2&keywords=2%22+latex+topper

The issues with ,my back are more important that with my shoulder. I can not sleep on my back, but just laying on my new bed and memory foam for 20 minutes or so hurts my back.

Jostarr.  It is unlikely that your new memory foam topper is sagging.  It might be that it is of very low density and is providing no support.  Since you...

Iamnotsam.

1- You might be able to get away with 6-8 inches since you are an easy sleeper.

2- It needs a cover if you like the feel of it with a cover.

3- Some have reported mold.  Best guess is that these people are in a non air conditioned environment and everything gets mold on it.

Please keep us posted.  Mattdud

Took Mattdud's advice (thanks!) and stuck with the memory foam - purchased the Aerus Natural 3" Memory Foam Topper w/ 300TC Sateen Cover

http://www.walmart.com/ip/3-Aerus-Natural-Memory-Foam-Topper-w-300TC-Sateen-Cover/11030693#about

It is a 4lb memory foam made in the USA by FXI, and is supposed to have enhanced breathability over traditional memory foams. I am impressed with this topper thus far, super comfy, the quality seams better than my previous one, the initial memory foam smell is almost nonexistent, and it comes with a nice deep pocket mattress pad. The heat thing, well it's still up in the air... Even though this is a new product for me, I would recommend it to others seeking a 3" topper. Less than 200. for my queen bed (remember the cover's included and it's seriously about as good as a Hotel Collection one for which I paid close to 100.) and free shipping (heavy product)!

Decided against purchasing a...

Hi Jamie. I have the 9" Botanical Bliss mattress from Plushbeds in medium and I love it! It is the most comfortable mattress I have ever owned. To answer your questions, it is organic and 100% natural latex with no blends. It's a very good quality mattress. It gives great support yet it feels soft at the same time - it cushions my whole body and almost makes me feel like I'm floating. I do not sink into the mattress at all like I do with memory foam. It gives great pressure relief and it feels soothing on my body. There is also no off gassing or odors. I sleep like a baby on this mattress. I would highly recommend this mattress. As far as it lasting a long time - I believe it will - it is very resilient and there is a 25 year warranty. I hope this...
Looking for a good organic latex mattress - need advice Plushbeds v. Flobeds? - Jamie Grillo

Hello. My name is Jamie. I have been following several posts on here for some time now and learning a lot. Thank you for that.

Here is what I am looking for:

- My old mattress was memory foam and it did not provide enough support. I have lower back pain from this. I would like a mattress that is more supportive than memory foam. I read that 100% natural latex is great for pressure relief and that it is more supportive than memory foam so I think it may work well for me.

- During my research, I came across a lot of information on vocs in certain mattress and all of the harm that they can cause. So, I know that I want an organic mattress with little to no vocs.

- I am hoping this new mattress will last a long time and from my research, it looks like...

Benefits of Memory Foam Mattresses
Given the popularity and high owner reviews of memory foam, there’s clearly a lot to like. The most significant advantages focus on comfort and durability.

Relief of Pressure Points
One of the key things that distinguishes memory foam from other materials like regular poly foam, springs and fiber filling is how it responds to pressure. Memory foam was designed specifically for the purpose of absorbing pressure, which it accomplishes by molding to the shape of the person and distributing weight across its surface.

Rather than actively resisting your body weight (and squishing soft tissues in the middle), memory foam accommodates curves, creating a sensation often described as weightless, or cloudlike. The more memory foam in a mattress and the denser the foam, the more pronounced the effect is.

Back and Joint Support
As body weight is evenly support across the surface of a memory foam mattress, it also works to support...

Hi Jamie. I never heard of Flobeds before but I personally own a Plushbeds mattress and it is the most comfortable mattress I have ever owned. I have the 9" Botanical Bliss 100% natural latex mattress. It is a very good quality mattress and it has adjustable layers which are not glued together like some other mattress companies do it. No blends or synthetics and no chemicals. I can attest to the fine quality and comfort of this mattress....

This is a great question. I am currently trying to decide if I should get the 10" Botanical Bliss mattress from Plushbeds which is 100% natural latex or the 10" Eco Bliss from Plushbeds which has a plushfoam core and a 3" 100% natural latex top layer. Does anyone have either of these beds who can give me advice? I am also wondering if the 100% natural latex bed last longer or if they feel different than those with a different core. Thanks!...

I actually purchased a 3" 100% natural latex topper online to make sure I like the feel of natural latex before I buy the full mattress. I bought it from www.plushbeds.com almost 3 months ago. It's a very high quality natural latex topper. No odor. I didn't buy the cover because I wanted to lay directly on the latex to see how it feels on my body. I love absolutely love it! It feels amazing on my back. It has a nice pressure relieving effect and it cushions your whole body. Highly recommended. I am now ready to buy the full natural latex mattress. ...
Natural Latex Questions - IamnotSam

I am shopping around to essentially build my own mattress to replace my 6" dollar store mattress that I never sleep on. I currently sleep on my sunken in couch that I will also be replacing with a DIY platform sofa. Years ago I purchased a 4" natural latex topper with organic cotton cover for my child and it has been a great investment. I put this topper on a metal slatted frame and never thought about it again, until now. Now I am interested in doing something similar for a sofa and bed for myself, but I'm at a loss for all of these ILD, firm this, inches, and etc. My plan is to buy the latex toppers in pieces and then encase them in an organic cotton cover I found online or just using a duvet cover with zipper. In fact, I already purchased a full 2" talalay...
