I guess since I have springs, I don't need TOO much bounce. :) And, I definitely don't like sinking in! Again, I'm just fortunate to be able to have this store in my town (where I bought my zippered mattress). That way I can have my cake and eat it, too. Coils WITHOUT the poor quality foam on top. ---> http://www.baybed.com/

That guy, Peter is irritating to me at times. He definitely is biased. So if it's a Sealy or Stearns and Foster you want, he's your man. Just like there's another mattress guy out there who pushes Simmons. Sure, they'll answer your questions, but I can tell you for sure that Peter Cancelli doesn't always have the right information. I've had to correct him (in a private post) and he's not always agreeable or one to admit when he's wrong.

Do you mean a good INNERspring mattress? The box spring or foundation is what's under the mattress.

Here's the dealer's post. Of course it's self-serving, but it confirms what we have discovered/discussed re: support:
"Hello all, I am a retailer of Hastens and Carpe Diem Beds of Sweden. I also sell other brands such as Stearns & Foster, Englander, Sealy, Tempur pedic, and more. Hopefully this post will answer a few of your questions. It is possible to simulate the feel of a premium quality bed like Hastens and Carpe Diem, but unfortunately, no one can give you the support and comfort together, not to mention the longevity of their beds.
As you probably know most U.S. mattress manufacturers are building beds with one sided construction. Very convenient for us, since we all hate flipping our mattress. These manufacturers are loading up one side of the bed
with tons of foam and other upholstery materials to achieve a soft comfortable feel. The problem with that design is that we...

After my allergy testing today I think I am leaning again towards the kit. I know it kinda sucks that DH (dear husband) isn't really supporting me on this per say, but at least he's not blocking it. He could care less what he sleeps on. I'm not sure why since he does have disc problems, but that's the way it is. I told him if he doesn't help me move the mattress I will hire movers to do it. I think I'd rather hire movers anyways.
See, it's hard for me to say that I *know* what latex feels like since the one I likes was a Stearns and Foster so how much of...

There are 5 different levels of firm/plushness. Which one did you think was too soft? Was it the Sealy or the Stearns/Foster? Not that it is really different but we are actually getting the S/F model. I don't know why I put the Sealy one in the thread. The one we are leaning towards was right in the middle of firm and plush. In the S/F brand it is called Saybrook point. It did not have a pillow top....
Best box spring mattress with latex in the top - Sabra

After reading all the posts, it seems the best thing for comfort and pain free sleep that doesn't require a lot of trial and error is a good box spring mattress with a top layer of latex sown in. I noticed Macy's has a Stearns and Foster Dali with a little PU foam in the surface and a little memory foam under the latex. It sounds like a great combination to me but I don't want to make an expensive mistake. I can get a topper later if I need one. What do you veterans think? Would you recommend a different mattress on the market that I don't have to piece together? Thanks for your help!...

Have Credit @ Sleepy's........Need some help to pick a Stearns & Foster - jh225

So, I have a Stearns & Foster Nottoway firm mattress with pillowtop that was purchased a little under 2 years ago. The pillowtop has basically collapsed and Sleepy's has issued me credit for a new mattress. I do NOT want to go with a pillow top again as I just don't trust them anymore.
In order to keep my full warranty in effect (not replacing box spring as it is fine) I need to pick another S&F mattress and have no idea what is out there today.
My wife & I are both side sleepers, and I have neck/back injury.
We both like a firm mattress but comfort is also needed.
Queen size.
Thoughts?...
