Great! I look forward to your experiment! I'm also pretty confident it will work out for you. Springs, especially with lots of padding on top, probably have not worn out, unless someone jumped on them a lot or something... but then again, if they're old... well, good luck!

Just checking to see if you like your mattress ?. We are getting one delivered on July 7. Ortho. Ultra Plush - King..
previously we bought mattresses for a college age daughter at a campus apt . and my father -in -law in a retirement community.
Great basic beds for both.. this is the most expensive bed we have bought from OMF..
.. Also for US. We had a nightmare experience with a Serta ( ha ha ) PERFECT SLEEPER. . we really paid big bucks for.
so never again with them.IT was not
flippable- and THAT DOES make a difference! Wow and the national brand prices are going through the roof-
we just couldn't afford the NEWS Serta of similar quality- several HUNDRED dollars more at the furniture store.
I feel that the prices are excellent at OMF and the two mattresses we bought for others are still in service and no
problem.. although I doubt...

It's a queen size mattress by Serta, perfect sleeper is the model I believe. Specifically, it's an 'Aphrodite' although I know that the product names change between stores. It's a medium firmness mattress from what I could gather from the store and has a pillow top....

Some of you may have seen my first thread that explains my story:
So after months and months of researching, going from mattress store to mattress store, I finally made a promise to myself that for my new year's resolution I'd finally pick a new mattress.
I had been sleeping on a old, innerspring, sealy posturpedic hand me down from parents. That mattress is probably twenty yrs old
Never had any serious back issues though but that's probably because I'm still young (27) and workout (lift weights) religiously (5 days a week) and eat healthy foods.
So In my search of mattresses I narrowed down my options to Simmons beautyrest, Sealy posturpedic, and Serta perfect sleeper. My old boss whose a Chiropractor has a Simmons so he recommended that brand...

At the Sleep America where I bought my Simmons, they only have two latex beds and they're made by Simmons as well. That, and they're really expensive.
I'm pretty sure I'm only allowed to choose the selection of mattresses in that store only for a exchange. It also sounds like getting that better model Serta perfect sleeper would be bad idea?
I would absolutely hate being in this same position again especially after spending an extra $800 dollars to change mattresses.
Ugh, this is stressing me out :( I had another horrible night of sleeping on Simmons last night. Tossed and turned all night....

My Serta Mattress Surgery (now with photos) - Q119

So I decided to cut open my Serta Baywatch Perfect Sleeper (purchased in 2000) to see what was causing the excessive sagging. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the springs and not the foam. There was very little foam at all - three layers that were each maybe 1/4 inch thick. SOOOO disappointing. I could clearly see that the shape of the mattress without the padding was exactly the same as it is with the padding. The center springs are shot. So, as a temporary fix, I folded up some blankets and layed them vertically along the center of the box springs so that they would push the center of the mattress up into a more comfortable position. It made for a much more comfortable sleep last night...no back pain! However, I have no idea how long this fix will last, so hopefully I'll be ordering our Flobed soon.

Thanks for your advice guys! Upon further inspection, it is not a pillowtop (my other bed is - had them confused)..it's a Serta Perfect Sleeper. Looking forward to trying this out. I'll definately take pictures and post!...
