Pressure points

I bought a Simmons Beautyrest Silver medium firm hybrid mattress about 3 months ago. It seemed firm at first but I read that a mattress needs a little time to break in, so have stuck with it. It's pretty comfortable, but many nights I wake after a few hours with pressure point pain in hip/buttocks area. I'm not sure what that means. Is it too firm for me? I thought about adding a topper to add some cushion, maybe an inch or so but don't know what to get. I can return it but I hate to do that unless I have to. Any suggestions?

If you're having pain in specific pressure points, it may be because of the hybrid mattress you've chosen. Pocket sprung mattress give resistance when you lay on them. A pressure relief memory foam mattress might suit you better. This is because the foam doesn't work against you, but instead with you. It reacts to your body temperature and effectively molds around you.
