For all your Latex experts - some questions

Hey everybody,

I am in the (very exciting) process of building my FIRST FOAM BED! I pretty much know what is out there, but some of my questions are still unanswered. In no particular order:

1. Is there such a thing as BLENDED DUNLOP CORE? I couldn' find one for the love of GOD!

2. Can a CHEAP, but good quality NATURAL DUNLOP core be found online? (The cheapest I've found is $500 shipped to Los Angeles for a XL Twin 6" 28 or 36IDL. Here is the link:  http://store.mattresses.net/mefoov.html)

3. How to cut latex? (FBM only sells king sizes online, and I definitely would split up the core...)

4. Which one is a more standard mattress height, 10", 11 OR 12 inch? (I assume that the most frequent height would translate into the biggest selection when shopping for compatible mattress covers...)

BTW, so far my built is:

Natural “European” Talalay 6 inch core from FBM w/ 10Y warranty: Eastern King Firm (33-38 ILD)  - $590+$20 (terry cloth surcharge)

+

30-32ILD “medium” 2 inch topper (blended Talalay, but not from LI, that is not “Talatex”) - $240

(The only reason I wouldn't go with the similar, but cheaper FBM latex topper because that would be natural, and AFAIK blended is more durable...)

+

5 lbs (13ILD?) Sensus memory foam topper 2inch (plus free memory foam pillow…) - $259

+

Costco Cuddle Bed ~$60

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?prodid=11188577&hierPath=62415*28683*492*&whse=BC&topnav=&Browse=&lang=en-US

Total is ~$1170

So this bed would give me some flexibility with the toppers. With 2 inch toppers it would be 10" tall, but it could be made 11 or 12 inch tall by going with 3" topper(s). (Available in the same links above.)

Any inputs would be appreciated!

:)
