Anyone know a source for Dunlop or Dunlopillo latex?

I'm looking for a Dunlop topper and/or a Dunlop core (4-6"). Anyone know where to get one?
I read one post that says Dunlop is no longer in business? Or was it Dunlopillo?
In any case, some of their stock must still be around in warehouses, etc...? Net shops?

Thanks for that. Though I was hoping for a personal recommendation...

I believe foamorder.com's "natural sense" latex is actually Dunlop. They sell it in different thicknesses and ILDs. They also offer a less expensive core of Natural sense cut from a block of foam to any size; I think it's untreated with fire retardant.  Check out the clearance section too.

Thanks Beanie, I'll check. Dunlop is going to be my next purchase, perhaps as a topper with a Omalon base.

Jim, didn't you have a foam bed with memory foam? Is that not working out?

I like Dunlop, but hope you get it soft enough. It doesn't push back like Talalay.

Leo, right now my mattress is made up of HR foam and a sensus topper. With 4" of Sensus it's too soft and with 2" of sensus it's too hard. I am thinking of buying a 1" Sensus topper so I can try 3" which might be "just right". Or maybe 2" of Sensus and 1" of Venus??

With my shoulder/neck/back problems I am always searching for something that will give me just a little better night of sleep. My usual pattern is to sleep maybe 4 good hours and then struggle, tossing and turning,  the remaining 3-5 hours due to back or shoulder pain. So it is kind of like searching for the lost ark, and I'm always tweaking my mattress to see if I can do a little better.

I would like to try a different core instead of the HR foam, so I am thinking of Dunlop latex and/or Omalon. Or a combination thereof.

What's weird is that with memory foam I always love the first few nights and then it softens up too much and I get lower back pain. I thought maybe the Sensus was firm and dense enough for this not to happen but it did. Then there is the question someone mentioned: Is this overstock.com Sensus really Sensus, or is it perhaps a bootleg version? I'm not sure since I've never seen or tried real Sensus.

I will say, however, that the 5" of M-Grade Foam was the best I have done in the past couple of years. I think maybe if I'd bought the 7" core of M-Grade foam by itself instead of the 5" M-Grade with 2" of memory foam glued to it, I might have found the perfect mattress. If my experiments as outlined above don't work out, I may go back to overnightmatress.com and buy that 7" very M-Grade foam for a core and then add some Sensus and/or Venus memory foam on top and/or Dunlop on top.

Jim, is the memory foam glued to both sides? If it isn't can't you flip it over and put the toppers you want on it?

I have 3 layers of cheap 1" memory foam just at the waist up to the shoulders, to help with my shoulder pain (with 1 3/4" firm Dunlop under that and spring mattress). But it is just like you said, hard to find the perfect combo. It is the closest to pain free sleeping I have had. Some nights the shoulders hurt if I don't get that darn pillow in the right spot.

I have only 1" memory foam over the lower back area, that is over the Dunlop. Anymore than that my back hurts. So go figure......

I had problems with Sealy Trueform memory foam that was 5" thick (I think) that was glued to HR foam, in less than 6 months my hips hurt and I just couldn't sleep. It couldn't have been it was too thick (it was) because my hips were hitting the firm foam.

Leo, yes, with the overnightmattress.com mattress I HAD (I have now returned it) the memory foam was glued to the M-grade foam base. So what I did was turn it over and slept on the M-Grade foam. But the guy at overnight said that the problem was probably that I needed more than 5" of M-grade as a base. They sell just an M-Grade core of 7" and I wish I'd have bought that. I still might some day, but for now I'm back to experimenting with my HR foam with Sensus and Venus toppers. I am going to write overnightmattress.com and suggest to them that they offer the M-grade foam in other ILD's for people like us. If I could get 6-7" of it in a slightly higher ILD I might be interested. I think the 31 ILD (I think that's what it was) was a bit too soft for me once it got broken in.

Good to hear that. Wish I had known before I received my Dunlop from Overstock. I may order soft Dunlop from them if I have to though. Let us know the prices.

Haven't checked the prices yet but I wanted to add that they included this link with my email which shows that their Dunlop latex is certified "100% natural". Not sure exactly what it means, but here it is should someone feel like reading it:

As of Monday, June 08, 2009 this is foamorder.com's prices for Dunlop latex foam:

2.8 " x 38" x 75" (TWIN) FIRM "Natural Latex" (DUNLOP) = $222.35
So I could get almost 6" of Dunlop (5.6") for $444.70.

Note that this is 31 ILD which I would call "Medium" more than "Firm"

Still seems a little high to me, and I'm going to keep looking for a cheaper source.
