Long story ahead.  Skip to questions if you want.

So, after many years talking about getting a new mattress, my husband and I went shopping last weekend.  We found a mattress that felt really amazing, but decided to do some research first.  Here is a description of the mattress in question:

Mattress contains the following talalay latex layers: 1" Celsion Talalay Latex, which regulates body temperature so you can sleep comfortably, and 3" Talalay Latex Comfort Block, which relieves pressure on your body so you can rest easier and wake up more refreshed. A 6" Talalay Latex Core with Latex Rails creates proper support for your spinal column so you can sleep with less pain, while the 2" High Density Stabilizing Polyurethane Base Foam reduces motion transfer and stabilizes latex core. Includes intelli-gel foundation.

Concerns with this mattress:

It's a Serta, which I have heard mixed reviews on.  It seems like the foam core base would have a premature death, plus I'd rather support companies that are less sketchy.  The set is $2800+tax, which is a bit steep.

I've been reading a ton and getting fabulous info here and it seems like building a bed would be a great option.  I called the company and got all the ILD #'s cause I'm sneaky like that.  From bottom to top it goes 44,32,18,14

Anyway, I am torn between the following options:

vZone from flobed + celsion topper from SLAB

Sleep EZ 10,000 or 13,000 + celsion topper from SLAB

SLAB: 1" celsion, 3" talaylay, 5.6" talatech, 2" x-firm talaylay

SLAB 1" celsion & 2" x-firm talaylay + FBM 6" mattress & 3" topper

I am 5"8  ~140 lb. and mostly side sleeper, husband is 5'8" ~220 and side/stomach sleeper who gets cricket legs as he falls asleep.  We both like a medium firm bed and tend to get a bit warm.

So, what would be the best option, or are they all pretty much the same?  Is the zone option that Flobed offers really worth the extra money?  Is there anything I am missing?  Let me know if there is something I failed to cover or consider.  Thanks!
