I tried the Bliss nutrition and although comfortable, i felt that bed has lot of bounce, so I have a few questions

1) Do all Talalay latex layers have the same bounce? what determines bounce in a latex?

2) I may configure sleepez 13K as Xfirm, Firm, Medium and Soft - i am aasuming if I want to make it less bouncy compared to this setup,  do I have to  choose   Xfirm, Xfirm, Medium and Soft?

Thanks for your Input

The bounce is the amount of pushback.  All latex has this feature. A layer of memory foam directly below the top layer will help to minimize this--my parents have this exact set-up and it is quite different from my 12" of latex.

You might try putting some wool on top too. Or try some very dense, quick-response memory foam on top, 5-6-7 lb density. Not even sure if anyone makes toppers in this density.

You might also try a Dunlop layer 2nd or 3rd layer down, that should reduce the bounce as well.

Some questions Jim,

1. assuming it is flobeds all natural talalay bed, would the top layer(Is it crate shaped?) flobeds uses reduce bounce?

2. Question: Is bounce=pushback?

3. Is pushback from Talalay different then that from dunlop? (I have never seen talalay latex)

4. How thick a layer of memory foam should one use to reduce bounce?

Thanks Jim.

RichardP,

The way my FloBed layers are set up, I don't feel any pushback.  My top layer is so soft and cushiony but then I sink down to a very firm surface that is not bouncy at all because I chose all very firm and super firm latex layers.  I have been in such severe neck and back pain again with my fall on the ice bringing back the car accident pain from year 2007 and adding extra pain with my now thumb and elbow tendinitis. But when I go to bed in pain, the pain slowly leaves me with only my thumb and wrist hurting when I wake up. My Talalay Latex bed and pillow are the best things that could happen to me since at least I can sleep well and lessen the pain until I am up for several hours and doing driving or other activity where my neck is not supported and my arms are bent too close to the stearing wheel. I really need a car with an adjustable head rest that leans forward.  I have to call tomorrow hand therapists per my hand doctor to see if hand therapy can help the thumb pain since my wrist is still swollen since the fall on 01-18-2011.  Typing is not that difficult since I don't have carpel tunnel but the mouse bothers me and writing is painful as well as anything that uses my right hand.  But I do love my bed and I could not handle the hot memory foam.  The key is to get the configuration set up for your individual side's comfort and we are all so different.

Adding another line item:  Due to the fact that I am not quite 5 feet tall and now about 101 lbs and I need and like very firm beds but a tiny bit of cushion for my pressure points, my topper is my own from Brylane Homes since I found a soft 1" Talalay Latex topper worked best for me but the rest of the bed is from Flobeds.com and my Talalay Latex Pillows are from Overstock.com since I needed the standard size to be lower in height for me.
