Trying to Google and research for a new bed after my disastrous previous furnace of a bed ,  Would like to understand what Convoluted Latex is ,  As its in the specs for one of the beds im wondering about:-

I want a mattress that isnt going to be hot and that gives me enough support but isnt to firm as i am a side sleeper and my hips hurt on mattresses that are too firm .  Any advice appreciated

  • Natural latex, covered either side with layer of convoluted natural soft latex then layer of 100% Australian Downs Wool around the entire mattress.  This mattress offers excellent back support with the comfort of the convoluted latex which moulds to the body.  The benefits of the natural latex includes being antibacterial, mould-free, dust-mite free and non-allergenic.  The wool has been specifically selected for its long fibres and soft springy resilience.  Wool is hypoallergenic and naturally flame retardant.  Be aware of Latex mattresses offering dust-mite free, because most have foam and polyester quilted into the top of the mattresses which the dust-mites can get into.

  • Cover is calico and stitched through the mattress to prevent any movement of the latex and wool.  (No glues are used).

  • 10 Year guarantee

Convoluted has bumps in it, so it is not a flat surface.  At the peaks it might be 2" thick, and in the valleys it might be 1" thick.  Some people call it egg crate.

If you scroll down this link to convoluted talalay latex mattress pad, you can see a picture.
