I just ordered it, will return my Bellafina Tempurpedic

Back hurts so bad I am crunched over in pain all day

Hoping that as soon as someone else gets theirs they will report here about it...

I figure I try this, if not good I get 100% return, then at least I will know if I like latex or not...next would be Flobeds or Habitat...if necessary

I thought you said you needed a firm mattress?  The Costco mattrress is medium to medium-soft.

I'm interested to hear about the Costco mattress.

Try anything else for your back pain? I'm sure you wanted to punch through your screen and hit me when I said that, because I'm sure you have. Two things that really helped me was a 1 hr stretching routine I used to do (afterwards, no back pain) and lifting weights specifically to strengthen my lower back muscles.

Both good options as they are surgery free.

A firm and level (no dips) bed solved all of my back problems.

congrats!

unfortunately we're unlikely to get any f.b. reports from those who recently ordered this one, not before it's too late anyway.  because you guys won't even get it shipped before this deal expires on the 3rd, by which time the sale will be over. but especially for you, what's the harm in trying?  considering you've bought & returned a couple already, this is as low risk as you can get.

i initially disqualified it for me because as k.h. mentions 24ild over 32ild is its "medium/firm" orientation, & being the firmest option possible it still doesn't sound too firm (& the fact that its layers are glued together).  but i might give it a try anyway, considering these initial 25%-ild's listed for dunlop vs. talalay are not strictly comparable in terms of support factor, because of their different densities. so i'm convinced there WILL be a significant difference between 24/32 ild of dunlop vs. similar in talalay, because their different densities result in different "support factors" (65/25%). also, why it's not surprising to hear of those trying match a firm dunlop core with a talalay of identical ild & it not being close, or getting a very low ild dunlop that was still way too firm than expected vs. the same ild in talalay etc.  then worst case scenario if the science behind htat is wrong & those user reports are made up or exaggerated, we can still return it for 0-loss if it's not firm enough.

but ironically the fact that it's dunlop in the first place is my only sticking point now.  i just don't like the looks of (some) dunlop examples.  whehter what i'm seeing is actually "crumbling", or simply looks like that out of the mold & that's the way i'ts supposed to be, i am just more impressed with the apparent quality anyway of L.I.'s blended talalay.  wish i could see a photograph of what's inside this costco natural dunlop mattress.

i have scoliosis in upper back and bad disc lower

if too firm my upper back will be in agony and too soft same for lower

so, as you can see, it is a guessing game for me

The Costco mattress is a good deal, but I don't like the way it is configured.  I would still be more tempted to configure my own.  If you want fairly cheap, Sleepez has 100% natural dunlop or blended Talalay 3" queen pieces for $357 and 2" for $238 (or 100% natural talalaly for a slight premium) .  A 10" terrycloth cover is  $105 (queen size).  And you can buy firm (38-40), medium (30-32) or soft (22-24).  For some reason they only list the soft and medium in Talalay, but I am sure they could get firm (and probably XF) if you asked.  They also have 1" and 1.5" pieces. There is a $49 shipping charge and 30 day guarantee.  Probably no sales tax to most states.  So, for around $1200 you can configure you own 9" and have some flexibilty to switch layers.

I just called sleepez.  You should be able to get the F or XF in the talalay as well.  However, they told me that there is no warranty when you buy the individual layers (as opposed to one of their complete mattresses).  That is part of why it might cost less.  I don't know if that is a big deal for latex, assuming it is a good manufacture (I believe all of their talalay in latex international).  It does has the 30 day return policy.  If you want the wool mattress cover, that is $250 vs. the $105 for terrycloth (queen).

From the SleepEz FAQ on their website:

"Where does your latex come from ?

We purchase our latex from the three most respected suppliers in the world: Dunlopillo UK, Latex Internationl USA, and Radium Foam thru Sleep Comp West. We carry only the Talalay process in blended, and in natural."

So I wouldn't assume that the latex you order from SleepEz is LI latex.  You might be able to specify LI latex in your order though, not sure.

so then what IS the cheapest option to put together ~10" of L.I.in at least x-firm (w/cover)?

because honestly the more photos i see of all natural (dunlop anyway) the less i want.  green, white, anything.

When I talked to sleepez, they said their talalay was from .Llatex .Iinternational.  Of course I would check before buying.

I think sleepez is the cheapest I have seen is you want to be able to customize talalay.   Cheapest option is to buy indidual layers and terrycloth cover.  No warranty if you do it that way (can return in 30 days though).  If you want a warranty and the wool filled cover, then you need to buy the "mattress" combo for a bit more money.

I think they can get different ILDs, but they might have to order special.  Not sure how long it would take.

Have you looked at sleeplikeabear?  I thought their prices were pretty reasonable too.  You order the individual layers in the ILD you want, and order the mattress cover you want (several options).  I'm kind of with Eagle, though, for the slight premium in price, the return policy at Flobeds is the best.  Customer service so far has been stellar.
