As for the delivery delay, it's got me baffled. They are a smaller operation, with only 2 people usually trading off time on the showroom floor. One of them is the owner, who as it turns out, was one of the 2 delivery people yesterday. He said that he had lost his main delivery guy when he accepted a job in his field of expertise (carpentry). His new guy starts next week.

Their manufacturing facility a town over is an unknown to me. I'm gonna guess they're also a smaller type operation.

Having said all that, if his initial estimate was 3 to 4 weeks, one has to think that he made that call based on work he had in house - whatever came through the door after me should've had no bearing on my eta. Maybe it was the loss of his delivery guy that set him back. However, when I was in there last Friday, my bed hadn't been made yet and that was at the 5 week mark, so I don't see how the delivery team factors into that one. Maybe he figured he'd lose a sale if he told me 5 or 6 weeks. Hey, he just might have.....

As for the foundation, it is twin wood platform bases. They are manufactured by the same company that does his covers. They have a solid plywood or particle board top (maybe 1/2"?) but the top and 4 sides are covered to mimic a box spring that matches the mattress cover.

• I wonder how can it take them 5 weeks while flobeds and sleepez can deliver in the same week when you order? ANSWER: I have no idea why.
• How can Natural talalay be exactly say 28 ILd, 40 ILD because that cannot be if I have read about talalay ILDs correctly ANSWER: I have no idea.
• Is yoor foundation from CSD? or you already have one? ANSWER: from CSD, see my thread as referenced 5 posts up.
• I live in texas. I wonder if they charge extra for delivery?  ANSWER: I have no idea what CSD charges for delivery to TX. I live in CT (see post).
• why there are no reviews of customs sleep design talalay mattress on the internet? I have not found any. ANSWER: mine is here (see post), as for the rest of the internet: I have no idea why.

  As for reviews, I have only read positive things regarding them on this site.  I love the mattress and love the company - willing to help you through the process.  Contact them - it'll be worth it!

valpar - what kind of foundation did csd send you?

Also what kind of cover does your bed have? Is it a wool cover or only just a plain cotton cover?

I think jd2000 does not know whether his latex is all natural or blended.

Hi Jd, I am also interested in knowing whether you got natural talalay or blended talalay.

How does you mattress feel now since you have had it for quite some time now?

Is it any different then the first time you slept on it? any changes? Are you getting good sleep? Ae there any depressions or indentations in the mattress now that you have used it for some time? Could you tell us please.

Hi helpme.... I got the blended. CSD carries both, but the blended is far and away more popular. Also less expensive and lasts longer.

Thank you jd. So blened is lasts longer. There was some thread here in which this discussion was done. Some people said natural talalay lasts longer. Well I am just learning more and more I learn the more confusing it gets in some aspects!

Jd did you try both the natural and blened mattress at the store? and you liked the blended more. what sold you out on blended compared to the natural talalay?

CSD does not push the natural talalay, since it is deemed too expensive by most buyers. While they don't have it in the showroom, they will make your bed that way, if you request. My primary concern was getting a latex mattress that would get rid of my back pain and last longer than my POS posturepedic lasted. The all-natural "green" thing was never an issue. Anything but polyurethane!

Their showroom only has 4 beds, of varying degrees of softness. None of the ones I plopped on were of the exact specs of the bed that I ultimately bought. Going in, there was a certain amount of "blind faith", which can be scary when you're laying out that kinda cash. The owner, Bob, puts his years of experience doing this kind of thing to work, measures and sizes you up, and walks you through each demo bed. Then he formulates a plan. It becomes less scary when you understand that you have 90 days in which to swap out any of the latex layers, if they aren't working for you.

Now, if by chance that in 6 months or so, I'm laying in a sagging hole in the middle of my bed......  you'll hear about it here, 'cos I'll be bellyachin' the blues!
 

It's been a few weeks on my CSD mattress - I've been sleeping back and forth from the soft side to the firmer side to see which one I prefer.  I may change out and make the mattress a little firmer before my 90 days are up - I just haven't decided yet.  I must say though that I am sleeping much better than I was on my old mattress and the tempurpedic.  I rarely wake up with any back pain associated with my sleeping position.  The only issue I have may be my pillow - have not found the right one and CSD has been so helpful with that, sending me a different types after I explained my concerns.

jd2000 is correct - their showroom only has 4 mattresses set up.  I spent a considerable amount of time going between the firm and medium firm.  They even brought a talalay topper out for me to lie on as well.  I ended up with a mattress somewhere in between the firm and medium firm after discussing my sleeping habits, positions, etc. at length with them - a really great process.

I have noticed no changes in the mattress, regardless of which side I am sleeping on.  I will keep you posted if I decide to firm it up and how that goes.
