Don't like my semi-new flobed
I did extensive research before buying our extremely expensive latex flobed. We couldn't wait to get it after sleeping on our sleep number bed for too long, it was time for a change. The sleep number bed was just a bladder filled with air, and the softer you made your side, the air would displace and put the pressure on an area not as heavy. I had sore shoulders (I'm a side sleeper) like you wouldn't believe, then I had sore hips! I tried different pillows in different places and still had no relief. On to the flobed. The people were very helpful and friendly and helped us pick out our layers and structure. We received it, put it together as suggested and I tossed and turned for 2 weeks with no relief. I called back (forgot who I spoke with) and they told me to try re-arranging the layers. By the time you get through re-arranging the layers and the "v zone", my trial period was up. I did swap out one layer, but never got the bed to where I needed it. The v zone really messes me up. I ended up rearranging the v zone into all mediums on the top and put all soft at the bottom and curl up so my bottom half does not dip down. I contacted the company and advised I would like to swap out my v zone for a different layer and was told I could not swap, but I could purchase since my trial was up (that was fair), so I wrote in and asked the cost and never received a response. I left a message for them as well and never received a response. My husband now sleeps on the couch (and likes it better) and I have not slept through the night in over a year. The bed is well made and is clearly high quality, just not for us. So now we are going to have to spend a bunch more money to get a bed we can sleep on. Any softside waterbed mattress reviews? Anybody want to buy a flobed (only about a year old!)? |
Re: Don't like my semi-new flobed
You can buy your own talalay latex and make adjustments yourself. Why not? If the resulting DIY mattress won't fit in the flobed case, then don't use the flobed case. That is what I would do. |
Re: Don't like my semi-new flobed
kbmatt, I am so sorry about your discomfort with the V Zone latex kit. I am now glad I stayed with my 3 layer latex kit and a topper. I think that may have been a better set-up for you. We are all so different. I like having my 1" latex topper over the three layers since I bought my own topper. I love my bed and I was afraid the V Zone would be good on paper but may not work that great if the perfect layers and placements are not found. I would call Dave and discuss this with him and tell him you have posted a message to the board and they feel that maybe Dave did not see the email. Please keep us updated. |
