I have been reading post shere and based on some of them I am thinking about ordering latex mattress from Costco. Still I have doubts. I am confused about the mattress fondation.
1. Would that foundation fit on my existing queen bed frame? 2. would it fit on the iron rails fixed on my queen size bed? 3. and if that would I have to remove foot board of my queen size bed in order to lay down the mattress foundation to rest on the iron rails situated on the sides of my qeen size bed? 4. Could I just fold up the legs of the foundation and place it on the iron rails of my queen size bed or do I have too use the legs of the latex foundation to get the maximum stability for the foundation? 5. how stable will the foundation be? would it start creaking in a short time span of use? 6. what is the firmness level of the mattress? I prefer soft on top and firm in the rest of the layers. I have so many questions but bear with me. Appreciate your generous input.

I just ordered one but have doubts too. At $1500 for a king + foundation, it's not a small chunk of change. Still, what else are you going to get for that price? A mattress from an "S" brand that you know will fall apart in a couple of years? Or a foam mattress that sleeps hot, is hard to move around in, and will lose its springiness in a couple years? Costco has a great return policy and I intend to use it if I run into issues. |
I would not be scared of the bed, but I do fear the foundation. The reason is it is all metal, I was thinking the thing is bound to squeak eventually and sure enough I dug through the big thread about this bed and someone complained about the foundation making noises while moving. I am going to go with a tempurpedic foundation with my king latex mattress from Costco. The mattress is 185lbs. I am going to put the foundation on the floor and my bed frame and headboard will sit around it. This should cause 0 noise. Check out the tempurpedic foundation. It seems to be pretty solid and no nails to squeak: http://www.tempurpedic.com/accessories/foundations/ecru_high_and_low_foundations/ Superior Structural Design
To answer some of your questions. The queen is traditional queen size so it should fit. Based on what I have read it is soft for Latex based on the ILD #'s. You do not have to use the legs that comes with it. The rails is probably not a good idea based on the weight, unless they are very heavy duty. Queen with foundation dimensions 60”W x 80”L x 17”H (without legs) Weight:226 lbs Of course all of this is just another persons opinion. Good Luck!

If your only concern is the foundation, then don't buy it. Go to a regular mattress store and buy a foundation there. Solves the problem. That's what I did with the latex bed I bought from Flobeds. |
i have had no issues with the foundation but if i did i guess i could just get another one
i am having good luck with this mattress visa vi my lower back issues, but i am having all kinds of back pain that is new and right now i am not sure what it is, may have nothing to do with the bed...

my queen bed box springs rest on wooden planks - 3 of them in the middle that can be moved to differnt positions. and of course on the sides of the bed. They are wooden planks instead of Iron rails. Currently I have a Seal mattress.
Could I place the costco sleep science latex bed queen foundation on these wooden planks safely meaning it won't break the wooden planks? appreciate your help.

how long does it take for them to deliver the bed? The problem that vexes me is the creaking of the metal foundation. If I put the foundation with legs on its own on the floor plus the latex mattress on it, the metal foundation will start making a creaking noise soon.
plus my frame is wooden with only 3 wooden planks as central support. so that will break the wood if i put the foundation without legs on the wooden railings with only 3 wooden planks as central support. should i get more wooden planks and put them as central support? or should i just get a heavy duty iron side rail with central support? which would be a better choice? or should i just remove my wooden rail with 3 wooden planks as central support from the headboard and the footboard and just put the foundation on the legs that come with it and put the latex mattress on top of that? but then it would start creaking as others mentioned. please help me, I am so desperate. I too have a bad back that is very troublesome.

I don't see how creaking and back pain are even in the same ballpark. If you need a bed and your back hurts, just order the thing. If it starts creaking, return it to Costco after you secure a better foundation. |
