I thought it might be too thick.  Finding a high quality, cool  1" memory foam is tricky.  That is something I have been searching for as well.  Overstock.com does have a variety in 1" thickness.  It is hard to tell what is best.  The Sensus is suppose to be 5 Lb. like TP, but some have questioned if it is authentic.  I also found it can sleep hot.

I have 1" of 4 lb. mem-cool from overstock.  It is okay.  I think it is cooler than the Sensus, but not as dense and supportive.   They are not that expensive, but I don't think you can return once you use.  So, it is a gamble.

I actually called Sleep Science to see if I could be 1" of their 5 lb. (which I liked).  They don't sell to the public and would not tell me where else I could get it.  They told me Relax the Back might carry it in 2" (or might even be thicker).

Healthyfoundations.com was best value in a Wall Street Journal review (Sensus purchased from sleepwarehouse was best overall).  I think they have a return policy, but thinnest is 2" on their website.

thanks, see my thread on toppers and i think i will try this, maybe?

oh yeah, forgot, links dont work, but there is these,  your advice?

I would go with the 20 ILD over the 32.  I find 32 to be too firm for a top layer, and it sounds like you want a softer plusher feel.  Even at 20 ILD, it will be firmer than most or all memory foam.  I would just get 1" to start.  I am not totally sure of the quality of the foambymail latex.  If you want to get Latex Internattional (good quality) you might have to pay more from sleeplikeabear, sleepez or rockymountainmattress.

If you wanted to try 1" of memory foam, I guess I would get the 1" Sensus from Overstock.  Not totally sure if the Overstock is the high quality Foamex foam or not.  I tried 2" and it did seem pretty dense.  It might be too hot though, so possible it will be a total waste.  Not real expensive though.  Cooler is the mem-cool, but not as dense and supportive.   Hard to find 1" of quality memory foam.  It must be out there somewhere, but no one seems to know where.

Sensus is 5 lb. memory foam.  Probably the closest you will get to the Tempurpedic memory foam.  Not exactly the same though (probably hotter too).  I wish Tempurpedic sold 1" toppers.

Talalay is latex, but softer and more plush than dunlop latex.

You may have to buy 1" of Sensus and 1" of Talalay to see what is best for you.  You are saving a lot by buying the Costco mattress, so you have money to burn.  If you buy the talalay latex from sleeplikeabear, I think you can return it within 30 days.

Foambymail does not say who makes their talalay or what it is made of.  It is possible that it is 100% synthetic, which I would probably not buy, but I have never tried.  I would prefer the Latex international blend or ideally 100% natural.

I don't know where my question is gone but I posted it in this thread. To randy: how does your costco latex mattress feels? Is it soft, medium, firm? does it feel hot?
and what is the reason/s one needs to have a topper on the latex mattress? thanks randy.

Randy: one more question.

Is the Costco latex mattress:  firm, medium or soft?
I weigh 200 pounds and I am a side sleeper.

Thanks randy.

I was one that said I thought 3" was too much soft foam.
I would go with something in the 20-28ILD range, maybe just 1" of something softer and 1" of something harder. Ideal would be 22 on top of 28 I think. I am using something like a 24-28 over a 32 - both Talalay, the 32 is natural, not sure what the other on is or what the ILD is for the other one but I"m guessing 24-28ILD.

I have the Sensus from Overstock but I bought 2" and I think 2" is too much. I don't use it. My wife was using it and it was fine for awhile but then it felt too soft. I traded it out for the 1" Venus foam which we now all know is not "True" "Venus", but an imposter. But it feels about like the Sensus and 1" is working for her as a topper.

been a few days now, better than the tempurpedic in that i dont wake up in pain but may be too soft

so, on advice from someone here I ordered a one inch sensus foam from overstock, I figure one inch is enough as all I want is the feel of foam but the firmness of the latex bed that is underneath...for the price, $69, it was a no brainer

If i do like it better than the 3 inch right temp topper i bought at costco i can return it for the $190 it cost...will be about a week before i get it so will update you then

You know I have been going on and on about how great Costco's return deal is and it is, I was told you could have them pick up anything that you coudlnt take to a store, anything.....

Is true but then I read on the website that it has to be packaged the same way it was delivered, that is almost impossible with beds as bed packaging is usually taken away by the guys that deliver the new bed to you, so I have emailed them and we will see what they say about that.

This matters as I may or may not keep the latex bed they sent me, I still have to go to flobeds one day and lay on theirs...to see the difference.  Since they are so close it would be a crime for me not to.

Randy, are you saying that costco latex bed is soft?
Then are you thinking of returning it back to costco?
I am close to dallas, so is there any flobeds close by me?
thanks randy.
