Flobeds versus Sleepez - convoluted topper?
I'm researching a latex mattress purchase, and of course two of the big choices for me are flobeds and sleepez. The important difference between them (aside from varyations in the exchange policies) is that flobeds uses a 2 inch convoluted topper whereas sleepez doesn't. Also flobeds has a 1 inch wool cover, but I'm not sure how important that is. I'm interested to hear what the folks here think of a topper, or convoluted topper, on top of a latex mattress, versus not having one. Thoughts? Also, am I missing any other important difference between flobeds and sleepez mattresses? Thanks |
Re: Flobeds versus Sleepez - convoluted topper?
Right, they do. I'm mostly interested in hearing opinions as to whether or not having a topper above the cores (flobeds versus sleepez) is beneficial. |
Re: Flobeds versus Sleepez - convoluted topper?
I can only imagine how wonderful convoluted talalay latex would feel at the top layer. If it wasn't so expensive I'd have one! |
Re: Flobeds versus Sleepez - convoluted topper?
Well from my perspective, the cost difference between flobeds and sleepez is such that I could still throw a convoluted latex topper in there if I went with sleepez. I just don't know whether or not I should bother. |
Re: Flobeds versus Sleepez - convoluted topper?
I just know, I like how all my latex cores and my topper is all zipped up under the mattress cover so nothing moves around when I sleep. I am very comfortable with my FloBed zippered mattress cover that fits all 6 split latex cores and the topper. With my three price reductions with one of them being my free slat bed over the course of 3 months, I ended up paying less than if I went with SleepEZ so FloBeds was the right choice for me with their great customer service. But I have heard good things about SleepEZ also. I know I needed a topper and just very firm latex cores did not work for me since I sleep on my side but still need back support. Everyone is built different with different needs. |

For what it's worth, I just randomly came across this: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Beautyrest-Latex-Fusion-Topper/2681070/product.html might be worth checking out for the price ! |
Re: Flobeds versus Sleepez - convoluted topper?
.... It is mostly polyurethane, and tiny tiny part latex. This message was modified Feb 8, 2009 by Leo3

Re: Flobeds versus Sleepez - convoluted topper?
Ah you're right. Good call. |
Re: Flobeds versus Sleepez - convoluted topper?
I was reading old posts and the convoluted latex is perhaps too soft. Maybe a soft latex that is not convoluted that is 1-2" might be all you need. I am looking into that myself for on top of my spring mattress. |
Re: Flobeds versus Sleepez - convoluted topper?
Well I guess the whole topic is a moot point for me now. I ordered a Sleep EZ 10000 yesterday :) Will report back. |
Re: Flobeds versus Sleepez - convoluted topper?
Let us know how you like the mattress, and if you ordered a 1-2" topper to soften it up. It sounds like you may have to. Who knows? Good luck. What densities did you order? |
