Seems to be a lot of chatter regarding heat issues w/ foam beds. I am 6'1" 235 lb with an arthritic knee and sweat excesively due to a medical condition and my wife is 5'6" and 135 lb w/ a bad back (no sweat issues). We both sleep on our side.

Any specific mattress recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I can't give you a specific recommendation. All foam tends to be somewhat hot, but then so do S Company mattresses made with polyester tops.

My advice is to build your own mattress, use a thick wool topper, stay away from anything but natural materials like wool. Talalay natural latex may be your best bet especially if you build your own mattress and make sure it has a slatted frame for air circulation, and a wool topper. Stay away from memory foam.

Oh, and budgy says to use a silk duvet instead of a comforter. The silk is cooler. I think this might be in the thread about "sleep ez sleeps hot".

Good luck.
