Hello-

I have been lurking around these forums for the past few days. There seems to be lots of knowledgeable peopole here, and I was hoping someone could offer some input.

I am 6', 160lbs, trying to spend max $150 on a topper. I need a full-size.

I don't want to spend much more than this, because I will probably be moving in May, and I don't know if I will be able to bring whatever topper I purchase with me.

The place I just moved already has an Ikea "Sultan Fangebo," but it seems a bit hard to me. I have spent some time laying in the TempurPedics and I like the feel, although I realize I likely won't be able to get the same sort of experience with simply adding a mattress topper and such a small budget.

I am leaning towards ordering either 4" of 4lb, or 3" of 5lb, from the from Foam Factory, but I am reading mixed reviews on them.

I have also been considering the 4" spa sensations mattress topper from Wal Mart.

I am also open to other suggestions.

All things considered, who provides the best value memory foam? Is Foam Factory reliable? If so, which would be more TempurPedic(ish), the 4" of 4lb, or the 3" of 5lb?

Basically, what are my best options if I only want to spend $150 improving my sleeping situation?

The more "tempurpedish" would be 3" of 5 lbs from FF. I don't think you will find a better value.

At 6" 160 lbs you are not heavy/compact enough to crater through the 3"  of 5 lbs foam to hit the fangebo.

The 4 lbs is if you want something in between "tempurpedish" and "latexish" but closer to "tempurpedish"

How about a latex topper?  I ditched my memory foam toppers years ago--they were hot and wore out quickly).  Foam by mail has 2" latex topper in your price range.  I have experience with their soft latex and can tell you that is comparable, maybe softer, than 5lb memory foam.  I hope this helps.

The Foam by mail memory foam is the second best I have ever had--the best was Sensus/Aerus from sleepwarehouse.com--btw if you order from sleepwarehouse.com splurge and get the bamboo cover...

I am not sure what I would like tbh, so I am thinking I would like to try something that I could return to a store if I don't like it, since I am sure that it will be a giant PITA and cost a fair amount of the topper's cost to return the it by mail if I don't like it.

I am thinking about ordering the topper from Wal-Mart that I mentioned: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Spa-Sensations-4-Memory-Foam-Mattress-Topper/4569413

I know this won't be as memory foamy as the other the ones from FBM that I mentioned, but does anyone have any experience/thoughts on this topper?

If I order the memory foam from FBM, do I need to order the mattress topper cover, or will it be alright without any cover?
