Jersey Cotton Sheets .. Yech! They stretch, yes, right around you and don't let go.  Then they seem to attract every bit of dirt and don't let go.  Hot to the skin and scratchy, too. Mom used them on her bed (and spend a bundle for them) and didn't like them either.  Asked friends and they have the same opinion.  Maybe these from Sears are better.  Give me a nice 600 count  satin sheet for the summer.  I have hot flashes and that 600 count is not hot for me. The lesser count is scratchy and pills so fast it is like sleeping with sand. This fall we switched to microfiber sheets for the winter.  Oh, they are wonderful!  Now I am selling my electric blanket because we didn't need it all winter. I keep the house around 62 with the family room warmer using a fireplace.  Hitting those microfiber sheets doesn't give you that cold shock and they are sooo soft! They did shed with the first few washings and have finally stopped. But then again, just the opinion of a tired old lady.

Guess that goes to show we have differing opinions on softness.  Jersey sheets feel like a comfortable tshirt.  They are 100% cotton, and soft, they stretch with the latex.  When I slept on regular non-stretchable sheets they made my hips soooo painful.  Yes, more than they are usually.

Yes, Jersey sheets are super soft. My comment was not about the softness factor but rather the breathability factor. To me, Jersey sheets sleep super hot. Both my wife and I noticed it. So if they don't make you sleep too hot, then go for them. They for sure are soft, at least to me.

I have the same problem with micro-fiber - they don't breathe in my opinion.

Cotton breathes Jim, I think what some people are feeling is that fact Jersey stretches, so whatever is underneath that is what you are feeling when you sink in.  Plus most of them are thin sheets so you do feel the next layer.

I ordered the sheets, I will let you know what I think of them, for those that are interested.....

I got the sheets yesterday in it's package, in a box smiley.  I washed them and they wash beautifully, the dryer had only a fistful of very soft lint.  Mind you I washed (ordered) 2 queen size complete sets, so that is not bad at all.  The other jersey cotton sheets I usually buy really fill up the lint filter and aren't near as soft.  Also they are probably twice as thick, which is good, and very very soft.

I haven't changed the sheets yet, as I am awaiting for the Natura Wool on top yet.  But I think I will really like the softness.  The only different thing I noticed is where the sew the pocket (you know where it fits the corner of the mattress) is sewn all the way the length of the mattress.  Never seen that before, don't think that will be an issue at all, it should be the edge of the bed.

I see the price went up to $49 for Queen size, they were on sale for $35 I think.  That's why I bought 2 sets.  Egyptian cotton is very soft.

Just thought someone might like to know.

Thought I would report on my sheets here.  They fit so nicely on the mattress, they actually fit the mattress, it covers it all!  Not short like most sheets are.  It fits beautifully.  When I woke up this morning I had no wrinkles in the sheets.  I did straighten the wool topper a little, it shifted a tiny bit.  They are soooo soft.  I am very happy with them.  I just hope they aren't discontinued ever.

So after being cozy and feeling very comfortable with the sheets I am sold on them.  The pillowcases actually fit too, and are long enough.  I am watching for another sale at Sears and plan to buy at least 2 more sets.  First time I ever bought sheets made in Egypt, and they are made the best. It really is strange that they made better quality sheets.   I never knew Egypt even manufactured and sold anything here.

Andrew, do you own some of their bedding?  I have heard really good things about them, I was actually looking at carrying them when I found St. Geneve and ended up with them for a more varied selection.

Too expensive for me, I've only heard of them.
