My main concern would be that it is 3".  I wish they would sell that in 1" increments.  I used a 2" Costco topper for several years and I was pretty happy with it.  Not sure if it the same manufacturer.

I am kind of like you in that I don't find 100% latex totally satisfying, I prefer a little plusher feel from a bit of memory foam.  Maybe because there is no "push back" from memory foam.   The drawback is that you can lose support, the more memory foam have.  I wish there was a high quality 5lb. or higher breathable memory foam sold in 1" increments.  Haven't really found that yet.

Hope it works for you!

The "link" function hasn't worked here for ages.
Are there no moderators on this forum? I love that they leave people to say what they wish for the most part, but I do wish they'd fix the LINK function!

So just copy and past the url/address into the message.

Sandman, have you ever tried 1" of SOFT latex on top - 24ILD or less? I do not like the feel of latex but I think my soft piece feels good and provides some support. I keep repeating this because I don't assume everyone follows all my posts, but I do not know WHAT ILD my piece is because I got it on a trip to a foam warehouse - it was just laying there and I asked if I could buy it. They knew not what it was.

But I will also say that putting a topper over the latex - like my wool topper - also helps it. The key is having enough support to start with, I think. My mattress before was not giving me enough support (this is my theory, I can't prove it! ) and that is why my wool topper was not working for me before. Now that I have good support on all the other layers, the wool topper works for me and it does help cancel some of the feeling of the latex that I don't like.

As to memory foam, I have heard good things about Venus foam for years but have never found any. Even the overstock.com fake Venus was expensive so the real stuff must be REALLY expensive. But it's supposed to be 8lb and I am curious to try it. (LIke I say, I'm not messing with my mattress any time soon, but maybe I'm a mattress surgery addict - much like those women that keep having surgery on their face until you no longer recognize them! - and I can't help but want to try Venus foam some day! )

Yes, I have a tried 1" of 24 ILD latex and 1" of 15 (?) ILD Celsion latex.  I was not totally satisfied with the feel, but I guess perfection is a dangerous goal.  Maybe 1" was not enough.

Is you wool topper wool inside of cotton (pad type) or the wool fleece type?

I tried a snugfleece that was sort of a pile type (carpet like), and I did not really like the feel.  I may try at some point the wool in cotton pad.  I am not totally sure what thickness to get.  I think it has to be thick enough to have some impact, but not so thick it changes the feel totally.   I saw Walmart has an organic 1.5" in cotton for a decent price (not totally sure on quality though).  They also have 3", but I think that would be too much.  Amazon has Natura (regular and comfort plus) and Gaiim (?).  Plus many other brands out there.

Hey Jim - the LINK function on here does work OK.

Here's how to do it. When you are making or editing a post, make sure the editing toolbar is showing, click on the little 'world' icon that show a chain link on it(its the one on the left), when that pops up insert you link, but make sure the http:// is NOT included in the string as you will see to the left of where you enter the url, the http is already there. You might have to arrow over and remove this, or be certain when you are copying the URL that the http:// is not included.

The link to the Costco memory foam pad is HERE

OK, my thoughts on this..... Why would you put a 3" piece of memory foam over your newly purchased latex bed?  To me this is bad on a number of levels that I won't get into..... Is it too hard? If so, make absolutely sure you have the soft side up.  Still too firm?  Then first, try something like the Costco Cuddlebed, only about $50 shipped with that great Costco warranty, this is a wonderful product.  It will give just about an inch of extra softness to the mattress and may be just enough to take the edge off and be soft enough for the side sleepers.  Still too hard?   Then if it was me, I would buy a latex topper from FBM,  and I'd probably get the 2" rather than the 1".  The queen sized 'soft' shipped is $151.  Great product for the money.... I know because I have one.  That's what I would do. One or both of these would soften it up enough for most anyone. If these didn't do it, you might be one of the people who just can't do latex and should look to a good innerspring mattress.  My 2 cents.

Bill,

Is it possible for a person to not be able to sleep on solid? I have never been so unhappy in all my life and I feel as if I continue at this pace I will be crippled BY MY BED! I have read weeks of posts and all say air is no good. I beg to differ with that consesus. I have been sleeping on air, a high-end, remote control Areo bed for over 15 years and after messing with 12 nights of foam I am done.

Bill, thanks for link help, plus tell me how you rename the link to HERE, i use to know how but forgot, thanks

as to why put this on my latex, well, i have a tempurpedic bellafina, almost $4k with tax and so on, and as plush as it is, my back hurts after about 5 hours on it, the latex bed feels springy and similar to spring bed, to me the feel of the temp is plush, etc., so I want to have the best off both worlds, thus the foam on top of the latex, we will see how it works or doesn't...good thing is both are from costco so return is a snap, i just call them and they come pick em up

i will consider the fbm deal if this doesnt do it, the link name change, i thought you could right click and get properties and do that, but confused

the point of the price is i think you get what you pay for when it comes to foam and temp is the best, but darnit if i dont have pain
