I have been trying to decide between two beds and am having a hard time figuring it out. My girlfriend and I went into Mattress Giant the otehr day and found this brand/model that they said was exclusive to them with a 10 year warranty. Now it uses a foundation for the bottom instead of a box spring. Today we went into Mattress Firm and saw a Simmons Beauty Rest which felt similar. The lady at Firm informed us of several things but i wanted to do more research to figure it out.
She said that the type of mattress the airsprung has, the coils bonnel?, were bad that they wear down quicker than the simmons BR Stage 1. That the foundation is also bad, that I need to get a box spring, which for a king they are trying to sell me two twinxl's.
I cannot find anything for the airsprung to research. The airsprung website does not even show the model. ^ took that picture my self of the model. That is the Locksley model.
http://mattressfirm.com/Simmons-Beautyrest-Gladestone-Falls-Pillow-Top-P20.aspx That is the Simmons. Just if anyone has any information or can correct me on this. I will try to clarify anything tomorrow hwen I get off as its late. Thank you. This message was modified Mar 18, 2010 by volindsay

Most important is that you find a mattress that is comfortable for you. The Airsprung product is manufactured by International Bedding Company. The foundation provides the support necessary for the mattress to last and perform as you expect it to over time. The Bonnell coil system is a quality coil unit. The Bonnell has been used in the industry for years and has proven to be a reliable and durable coil system. After reviewing the specifications at www.mattressgiant.com the Locksley also has a significantly better fabric and latex. which is a premium product. Simmons Beautyrest is also a quality product. Simmons does not use a "boxspring" either. The only difference between the Airsprung foundation and the Simmons foundation is that Simmons uses a small amount of steel in the foundation for support. The Simmons Beautyrest has more coils and as a result more steel. An argument could be made that the additional steel will increase the durability of the product. Both Mattress Giant and Mattress Firm are reputable companies and either product will serve you well. |
Thank you for the reply. We are still debating what to do. The guy i talked to yesterday at Mattress Giant, I asked him several questions and it was very difficult to still pick. He didnt knock simmons because he sells it, but between the two the price is right and the comfort is pretty good at MG but at MF the comfort is slightly better. I still have more deciding to do. This is a major investment to me because of funds. He also told me that all pillow tops will eventually sag because of the way that they are but that the locksley is one of the better ones because of the latex foam. Id like to know what the material is in the MF beautyrest. |
