Latex topper over firm memory foam or firm innerspring? (Costco Sleep Science memory foam / Sam's Serta Kendell)

Hello everyone,

I am pretty new to this forum, so trying to search, but not finding quite what I am looking for. Hoping the readers here can assist.

We are looking for a new mattress set up. We both like a firm mattress, with a little cushion on top. But, do not want pillowtop because of the known sagging issues. We are not small people, but not overweight either.

My parents have a 2" latex topper on a firm memory foam mattress from Ashley's. I've slept in it for a week or so while pet sitting before and it was pretty comfy. Took about two nights to adjust, then good. Our guest room has a Spring Air firm with cheap memory foam topper and isn't too bad either.

So, a few quick questions....

1. Do any of you have this set up- latex over memory foam? Do you think it's viable long term to have 2" of latex on top of a firm memory foam mattress? Provide enough support to still be underlying firm? Costco has the Sleep Science 10" memory foam mattress that gets pretty good reviews for definitely under $1,000. And a good return policy for life.

2. Do any of you have a good, solid, rather inexpensive, non-sagging, firm innerspring with a latex topper that you could recommend? Doesn't need to be fancy (in fact, simple might be better), but no sagging/indentations is the key! Sam's Club has a few Serta models: Senna (firmest) and Kendell (next firmest & seems to get pretty good reviews), again for under $1,000.

3. Does anyone have two twins or twin XL's pushed together with a king topper? Can you feel the divide between the beds?

Thanks in advance!

M.
