My husband and I are both on the larger side...he weighs approx 350 and I weight 250. We can not find a mattress that works for us. I had a tempurpedic when we met and he hated it. So we sold it and got a much softer pillowtop mattress. Now we sink and I end up rolling into him. Does anyone have any ideas? Our plan is to buy a new mattress set when we get our income tax return.

Thanks!

Thanks for the link Sager. You sure do come up with some good links!

I feel you folks that are heavy could benefit from a latex mattress that is Extra Firm. Call Flobeds and talk to Dave Turner, he ownes the company, and tell him your needs. I am sure he will have an answer for you.

No offense but how about seperate beds or at least a King size bed.  May solve the meeting in the middle issue!

King Koil makes a bed that is called Extended Life or XL for short...its made with heavier foam densities and heavier gauge wiring with better box springs underneath the bed for added support.  Check them out....I did at the latest show at the World Trade Center in Dallas, TX...I was impressed with the bed...its not in my current lineup of beds but it might be if I find enough demand for it.

I second the suggestion that you try a latex bed.  I'm heavy (although hubby is not) and have an extra firm latex bed.  At your weight you don't want one of those pillowtop things.  The PU foam is just going to break down and you'll end up with craters.

Best bet is to contact one of these reputable latex mattress sellers:

Flobeds
Sleepez
Sleeplikeabear
uh . . . SavvyRest

and talk to them about your weight, preferred sleeping position, and any issues you may have (e.g. hip, back, or shoulder pain sleeping at night) and see what they suggest.

I know that I started off believing I wanted a soft mattress (well, I still WANT a soft mattress) and finding out that I NEEDED a very firm mattress with enough resiliance to provide pressure relief for my hips.  This is what latex does best.

Don't pay attention to sager.  I've never read him be anything but rude to people.  Idk why he lurks on this board other than to snipe at people.

Wow that was very nice of you...So much for doing forums on here if I am going to get responses like that. Actually my husband is a body builder and yes I am just fat. Thanks for that....I really appreciate it.

Thank you Kimberly...I really will take your post into consideration. I couldn't get past that dumb guys response though to get to yours and Kevin's. Thank you for the info and I will definitely look into it.
