Mattress Outlet or Commercial Mattress stores?
| I want to buy a bed that's half firm and soft so it won't sink in quickly within a month or so, I don't want to feel like im laying on hard wood. I've found a few that are what I'm looking for but the prices at a known store is too much, even if I were to try to bargain. My budget is $300-$400 and not sure if I should trust an Outlet store since theres no manufacture warranties only theirs for 1 year or maybe longer, also I've never bought from one before. Any help would be appeciated. |

If you are looking for a good night's sleep, proper sleep posture is everything. Your mattress should help you obtain the proper posture for your position.

Let me explain how it works. A person pays retail for a mattress and then sleeps on it until they start noticing it is defective. This could be one month or 9 years down the road. The manufacturer does everything they possibly can not to take the mattress back unless it is absolutely a defective mattress. Then the manufacturer approves the mattress for return. The retailer swaps out the defective mattress with a new one and throws the defective one back on the truck dragging it treating it like trash. Then they throw it in a stack with all the other defective mattresses. When the manufacturer drops off their next load they pick up all the defective ones and drag them back on the truck. When they get back to the factory they are thrown in a tractor trailer including any bed bugs and bodily fluid at a nice ripe temperature where they are stored until the truck is full. Then the manufacturer sells this truckload to the factory outlet store at a dime on the dollar and they sell it to you at 50 cents on the dollar saying the only reason they have it is because of the scuffs from all the dragging. Then these are brought to a factory outlet showroom (cesspool). The factory outlet store doesn't have any factory warranties and the product is known defective. So if you buy a mattress from them and start to feel the defect they will be happy to give you another one and after you leave they put the one you were unhappy with right back on the floor to sell to the next person and so on. | In a lot of states it's not against the law. Our craiglist (Where I'm from) is full of these outfits. Factory seconds, overstocks, scratch and dent, the list goes on. Buyer beware is all I have to say. |

They have outlawed it in a few states. I know Texas has a law against it. Usually it if has a law tag then you can sell it no matter what the condition of the product. |

Perhaps you should wait a few more months and try to save up as much as you can so you can afford a higher-priced mattress. A $300-400 budget is not very much, and you might just get stuck with an IKEA quality mattress. Not all mattress outlets sell used/returns/etc., but if you do decide to purchase from a mattress outlet, just make sure the item is brand new. |
