Mattress for waterbed frame

We've had a waterbed (bladder type) for over 30 years. Recently my husband had heart by-pass surgery making it very difficult for him to use the waterbed. Now, we are shopping for a replacement mattress instead of the waterbed bladder but we want to use the waterbed frame because it has storage drawers with a large headboard and mirror. I was hoping someone might have a suggestion about which mattress would work on the waterbed frame without the box spings that might be as comfortable as the waterbed with better support? The waterbed frame measures 60 wide X 84 long, so I'm thinking it's a California Queen size. Most of the mattresses that I have researched come in queen 60x80 which would be to small for our frame.
