I am interested in purchasing a latex 100% Talalay mattress from Matresses.net and have the following questions.

  • Has anyone purchased a latex mattress from mattresses.net?
  • If you have, could you please share your experience?

Thank you.

Here is a thread with Reply #7 and their experience with mattresses.net.   You might want to use the "search" function to look for others:  http://www.whatsthebest-mattress.com/forum/latex-toppers/16314-0-1.html

Also, I've recently ordered some latex pieces from them to make a DIY mattress for the guest room and hope to have some experience to relate soon.

We just received our latex pieces from mattresses.net (Arizona Premium mattress).  I order the 5.5 inch talalay blend core and a 3" blend talalay latex in 22 ILD.  The order originally got lost (we were never charged either) so after not hearing from them for 3 weeks (they told me that it might take up to 3 weeks), I called and they got right on it.  I received the order in less than a week later.  The latex appears to be excellent quality latex at a significant savings over SLAB.  It was a one piece queen without any glued pieces and just a couple of very minor flaws.  They were shipped in 2 separate boxes and vacuum packed and everything looks good.  They actually sent a 6" core since they said that they didn't have the 5.5 cores anymore in what I wanted.  They also told me that they don't buy from LI for these cores and pieces right now because of the quality of the latex they were getting and are using a European supplier.  There was only a slight cookie dough smell that is what we had from SLAB LI latex and LI pillow I had purchased from someone else.  I would recommend them based on my experience unless you are in a big hurry.  They also told me that just because it's not on their web site, doesn't mean you can't get it.  I didn't see a 3" on their web site but I could order it and I did.

So I thought Matresses.net were all about the Latex International Talalay?  What was it that you got from them?

How are you liking your mattress?  What did you get?  (Firm. etc?)

We are looking at the same thing.  Like the idea of the bamboo cover ontop of a 6" core (firm) with a 2 or 3 inch soft top.  Both Talalay and if possible the 100% natural.  But now that they are not going throught LI, I wonder what they are getting now?

Any insight?

thanks

He said it was from a European company and I didn't get the name.  You could ask when you order and it could be different for 100% talalay.  He sounded like they still have a relationship with LI but that the quality hasn't been that good lately for what I was ordering.  The only way to find out would be to ask.  I found them to be pretty straight forward about things.  I would call the Arizona number for more information.  We got a 28 ILD 6 inch blended talalay base core and 22 ILD 3 inch blended talalay latex all in queen sized.  We haven't purchased a cover yet but are thinking about a thin zipper cover.  It is in the spare bed room.  Right now we just have a sheet over it.  My wife slept on it the last 2 nights and, while soft, it doesn't hurt her back.  We have latex mattresses from OMF in our bedroom that have a 32 ILD and I find that too hard to sleep on my side without hurting my shoulders.   That's why we are trying the 28 ILD as a base.  Until I sleep on it, I can't tell you where it falls on the comfort level for me.  I plan to try it out soon.
