I can't remember if anyone here is using this mattress pad. Kimberly, I think you might have this one for your daughter? It's a washable wool/natural cotton mattress pad. (not topper) I just ordered it from "The Clean Bedroom" website. I'm trying to get ready for summer and find something that provides a little "temperature regulation" while sleeping. I also wanted to try something that might absorb moisture a little better than polyester. After I ordered online, I discovered that this company has a small retail store fairly close to my home. The store is in Kittery, Maine. We stopped in there on Saturday and were impressed with the high end latex mattresses and bed sets that they sell. Savvy Rest is one of their brands. However, they do not stock any of the pads or toppers for sale (only samples)....but I did get to touch what I ordered. haha. If you choose to order from them online, be sure to search for the 10% off coupon code. (They also give you 10% off if you order at the store in Kittery). Seems like a nice company to do business with. |
Thats the one I use, definitely highly recommended. |
Budgy, you must not be bothered by stitching lines. Do you sink into your mattress at all? I think that is maybe why I feel stitching. But now I have decided the Wool on Top mattress pad that I loved for its softness and comfort when sleeping on my back, is the reason for my hip pain when side sleeping. The backing is polyester and stiff. I think they did this so it wouldn't slip around on a mattress cover, but it actually was ripping my latex. I shouldn't have taken the blanket off of the latex obviously. But the mattress pad also prevented my hip from really sinking into the top layer much. That is my theory. So I wonder if the wool puddle pad would do the same thing. Budgy do you have an opinion on that? I would like to have wool as the top layer, but not if it causes hip pain. By the way Mark I hope you enjoy the wool mattress pad. |
I still think you wouldn't have a problem with the Dormier ones....I know if I was made of money id switch out my Natura for one, they just stretch better so I think it would make the stitching less noticeable. The wool puddle pad is a very tightly woven wool that is just going to feel like a really thick and firm sheet on the top of the mattress. |
I'm with budgy on this one. |
Thanks Budgy and Diane. Glad you told me Budgy that the wool puddle pad was dense, no good for me then. I wish I could try the Dormier that was returnable if I didn't like it, I might shell out the $$$$ for it then. But I highly doubt if I can find a place that sells returnable Dormier mattress pads do you? I won't risk that anymore. P.S. Does Sears take returns over 60 days old (not sure how long now). |
So, You guys think this Mattress pad will solve the only problem I have had with my Costco Latex - Heat!! The wife and I both like the way it feels, but it gets a little hot. We put The costco cuddle bed on it. She loved the plushiness combo, I was fine with it either way (Just enjoying the latex support for my back!), but it made the bed even hotter for both of us. I was debating this exact same Natura Mattress Pad. Will it take away the heat issues we are having? Does it add much if any plushiness to the mattress? Main problem we want to resolve is the heat that the latex seesm to be producing for us. It seems wool is the answer, just trying to get a few more opinions before I drop down more $$$$ Thanks MC

I completely understand. So, in my scenario if they are basically the same price which one of these do you purchase: (I notice one is a pad and the other is a protector?) St. Dormier Wool Mattress Protector: http://www.snuggledown.com/s/catalog/st_geneve/st_dormeir_wool_mattress_protectors/product.22057.36267/ Natura Fitted washable wool pad: http://www.thecleanbedroom.com/Organic_Mattresses/Mattress_Pads/Natura_Cotton_and_Wool_Mattress_Pads.htm

I think you gotta go Dormeir, it is a better pad construction and functionality wise. |
