I am looking for opinions because I have never purchased any latex bedding before. (I have read through many of the forum posts and many of you have experiance with latex bedding and are so knowledgeable) I have decided that I want to purchase a natural Talalay latex topper but am unsure as to the firmness and the thickness we need. We will be putting it over our Original Mattress Factory pillow top mattress that is about 4 years old and the pillowtop has lost it's comfort. I originally thought my back problems stemmed from my pregnancy with my 9lb. 13oz. baby. But, it has been a year and a half and I am still having some lower back soreness when I get up in the mornings. Also, my husband has an auto immune disorder which causes sore and achy joints. Obviously, I understand that a mattress topper won't fix his joint problems, I am just looking to make him as comfortable as he can be. The problem is that I am 5'8" and 115 lbs and my husband is 5'11" and 190lbs and I think that if we go with a medium firmness that it won't be soft or comfortable enough for me. But I fear that if we go with the soft version that it won't provide enough support for him or he may feel that he "sinks through it". I am mostly a back sleeper, occasionally I sleep on my side. My husband is mostly a side sleeper and sometimes a back sleeper. We are considering purchasing it in 2" or 3" but being our bed is already a pillow top I am thinking we may not need the 3". Also, if anyone knows where I would be able to see these toppers in person, in Northeast Ohio, that would be great! As of now I am planning on purchasing online, sight unseen (kinda scary for me considering the investment)

Thanks for any thoughts!
