I've been lurking and reading thr forum for a few days. Like a lot of other folks I'm tired of throwing money down the drain for maattresses that give out in a year. I've been looking in the local area for a decent mattress, but without much luck. Today I ran across an Ironman T3 Recovery Matttress, apparently made by Enflander. A lot of fluff in the broachure and on the web-site and can't tell for sure what the mattress is constructed with. Does anyone have any experience with these or know anything about them? |
I have an Ironman treadmill, but I guess that doesn't help... If they don't tell you what is in it in the brochure or the website, then that is a bad sign. Probably a lot of marketing hype to sell an ordinary product. If you don't know what it is, stay away. You may want to try a latex mattress in your area. If that is something you like, then the best solution is to get something you can customize to your taste and it will last a lot longer than the S brand mattress. Flobeds, sleepez, foamsweetfoam. Foambymail if you are more adveturous and on a tight budget. Some people really like Tempurpedics (can be expensive). Some people (like me) have cut open their mediocre S brand mattress and replaced the foam with latex / memory foam to get a reasonably good mattress that will last. Keep researching! Unfortunately most of us go through a trial and error period to figure what works best. |
Sandman, I don't think I want to sleep on a treadmill, and just as likely would not like the mattress. The website is showing a proprietary foam and there's no indication of content. I've been looking for a latex bed locally, but have had no luck. There are two mattress "manufacturers" in the area, but neither offers a latex mattress and have no interest in custom making one. I hate the idea of ordering on-line without having the opportunity to at least try out a latex mattress somewhere. I'm getting ready to go on a two week driving vacation, with a little luck I may run across a store somewhere along the way where I can test one. |
