I am posting to report that my most recent 1 inch 20 ILD latex topper from Foambymail.com was absolutely top quality... almost as nice as the Latex International product I have received from sleeplikeabear.com and rockymountainmattress.com in the past.  This one is identical in "feel" (ILD) to the one I purchased over a year ago in the same ILD and 1 inch.

At least on this order, FBM has upgraded the quality and the public should be aware.

My previous Queen 1 inch "soft" 20 ILD from Foambymail had some small tears, 3 or 4 cut and paste 1.5 inch repairs where the manufacturer had fixed the topper.

It still slept fine, and was cheaper than the competition.  Now I am happy to report, the price is still "right" and the product top quality.

Thanks FBM.

Can you tell if ILD seems accurate?  A number of people have indicated that it seems firmer than 20 ILD, so I am curious if you are able to compare it to anything close to a 20 ILD to see how accurate the firmness is.

Hi Sandman,

This 1"  "20 ILD Soft" one feels the same as the 1" queen I bought from FBM about a year ago.  By comparison, it was a 2" thick queen "20 ILD Soft" slab I bought from them before the 1 inch 20 that felt sooooooooooooo  much harder.  I reported in a number of places here at WTBM forum that anomoly.

My suspicion was that the 2 inch was dunlop and the 1 inch are talalay.  I can only compare it to latex and poly from other sources.  I had a 2 inch piece of Talalay from RMM about 2 years ago (20) and it was a good bit softer than the 2 inch from FBM, and as I recollect, around the same softness as the FBM.  I do remember the 2 inch 20 ILD from RMM was really, really springy .... bouncy... and I found that really uncomfortable.  I am wondering if all the latex from FBM is either blended or dunlop?  Is there a way I can get your address privately... I have a small sample of the 1 inch from FBM that I can send you.  Don't recall how I ended up with just a few inches, maybe 2x4.

The 14 ILD (one inch) from SLAB was significantly softer than the 1" 20 ILD from FBM.   My 1 inch "super soft" poly from Foamdistributing.com FBM sister site feels very similar in softness to the 20 ILD talalay from FBM.  In fact, I sleep fairly well on 3inches of that, too, with 1 inch of mem foam.

I tried zoning again last night... 26 inched down from head end 4 lb memory and then to the feet with supersoft 1 inch (like 20 ILD) and really liked it!  (similar to your shoulder cut.)

Tonight I am putting that "soft shoulder zone"  on the second layer down, under 1 inch 20 ILD latex right under my sheet. That feels really good "just flopping."

Thanks again for your help.
