Latex will stay longer.

I think it's mostly about height. You want your head to sink down into it just enough so that your neck remains level. Try different heights with blankets or whatever and have someone tell you what height makes your neck just right, then try to find a pillow that will allow your head to sink in just right.

You can get cheap pillows at places like Ross Dress For Less. Maybe you can even return it if you don't take it out of the plastic... so you could try it out with the plastic on and then return it...?

I use memory foam but I have a bunch of it laying around so I cut my own pieces and make it the height I want.Then when it wears out I add a new piece...

Overstock.com was selling Nature's Rest pillows made by Latex International, but I'm not sure if they have any left. They were about $65 for Queen. However, JC Penney has comparable pillows, but doesn't have different varieties. For example at O.com you could buy firm, plush, high loft, low loft, and zoned. JC P. is one kind, and I would say it's high loft (about 7") and medium firm. It's a very nice pillow, about $35 for Queen.

I just ordered another JCP latex pillow since they were 50% off and I wanted a Kingsize.  Click here, from latex international website, then click on JCP link; it will take you right to the pillow.

By the way I buy a pillowcase protector that is 2" wider, because the latex piillow is 18" wide.  Then it is not squished and it is not so tight, and much more comfy for me.

I've tried a latex pillow once and it felt dreamy, but I was concerned that it wasn't the right height for me.  I worry that any height I chose would turn out to be too high or too low once I tried sleeping on it.  So I'm tempted by the shredded latex where you can remove some stuffing until you get it right.  But I've never had the opportunity to lie on shredded latex.

Narnia, which one did you buy that helped your neck. Was that the Nature's Rest? And which firmness did you get? A zoned one sounds good to me. I'll watch Ostock for one.

I may go see if our local JCP has any of these. I was wondering if anyone knows how long a King is? I was thinking I could buy one and cut it down the middle to make 2 out of it. I really don't like really long pillows, I like them short; so I bet cutting it in half would leave me and my wife with plenty of pillow and come out to about $22.50 each. We could carve the cut segment with a carving knife to make it slope downwards towards the center like the other end.

I just checked. Ostock does have the Nature's Rest zoned latex but it has a couple bad reviews (out of 5) and costs a whopping $61! Yikes! I'll check out JCP soon.

I like the idea of the shredded latex because with that if it was too high I could take some out very easily without having to carve it up. But how does the shredded latex feel? Anyone have one? I imagine it would be softer. Too soft, maybe?

I just got a king size one today, it's 36" long.

That's plenty long for 2 pillow, then, in my opinion.I actually prefer smaller pillows.

What is the best pillow for someone suffering from allergies? I think my mem. foam pillow may be giving me watery eyes.

I would like to try the latex one at JCP but I wonder if that might also give me allergy issues such as watery eyes or etc. I do sleep on latex, but it's under a sheet and currently also under a wool comforter. I think it would be okay but am wondering if maybe a regular Dacron or whatever they use nowadays for pillow stuffing would be better?

No Jim those pillows won't give you allergies.  Those JCP latex pillows,  Sears latex pillows, or Bed bath and beyond latex pillows are all made from Latex International and are all Talalay blended latex.  I love them all.  Of course I still have horrible allergies this year, I live where there are tons of blooming fruit trees!!!!  But the pollen still gets in the house, and when I go outside forget it!

Yes, a JCP pillow, I got it from the store.

It may be just my imagination, but the pillow seems cushier in the middle than it does on the ends.

Also for the person who wanted to see the latex pillows before they buy, good idea.....  Because standard is not as thick, queen is thicker, and king is even thicker.  I like the queen size thickness, the standard is too flat for me.

Jim was talking about cutting them, I wouldn't recommend that it will never be the same.  Just buy 2 standards they are cheap.

Hope I got the right ones ??   The price was good and I can return them if they don't pass inspection.
