Please Help!...Memory Mattress by Foam Factory?
I need to buy a King Mattress and Foundation. I've researched a bunch of options, including all latex. However, when we go lay on local mattresses (central Iowa) we usually like the memory foam the best. I could buy a $3000 mattress locally, but I really don't want to spend nearly that much. So, I'm thinking about ordering a Memory Foam mattress from The Foam Factory. Probably the 5# memory foam on a 5" HD36-HQ. Here's a link http://www.mattressbymail.com/memorymattress.html With the terry cover it would only cost about $416 plus $300 for this foundation http://www.mattresses.net/king-wood-foundation.html.
What do you think? Would this be serviceable for 10 years? If we don't like it, I was planning to add a 1" Talalay Latex Topper (20 ILD) for about $120 http://www.mattressbymail.com/latextopper.html Is this crazy? Anyone have any experience with this approach? This message was modified Jul 14, 2011 by farm_kid2

Opinions? Comments? Suggestions? I really need to order something, but with Foam Factory there's really no return policy if you don't like it. Seems like a bit of a gamble. |

Re: Please Help!...Memory Mattress by Foam Factory?
Sorry no advice for memory foam since I've never tried it. But if you've found you like it by testing it elsewhere it might be a good idea to order the minimum pieces then you can order whatever you need to add more layers to make it firmer or softer. I think you'll find this "build a bed" approach is very common here. You could call foambymail/mattressbymail and discuss your needs before ordering. If possible, find out the specs of the mattresses you tried and liked at the local store. I hear the people there are quite helpful! |
