Anyone know anything about this? Someone sent a link to me about this: This is from their web page: "Pluralux™ Foam Outperforms Latex Foam Latex foam is often marketed in the luxury bedding segment as a long lasting, highly resilient, highly comfortable bedding material. But Pluralux™ foam may be a better choice. Data shows that Pluralux™ foam exhibits excellent feel and resilience properties while outperforming talalay latex with respect to pressure relief, support, dynamic fatigue, tensile and tear properties. Unlike latex, Pluralux™ foam can be made to meet the California Technical Bulletin 117* flame and smoldering tests. --------------------- Better living through chemistry?? Jim, thanks for posting the inquiry on Pluralux after exchanging some PMs with you. I have just contacted their rep to see if I can get a list of foam manufacturers producing the Pluralux from the base chemicals that BASF sells. I'll let you know what I find out. In addition to that pdf/powerpoint link, they also have a nice paper online documenting some of the tests they have done in more detail. |
It sure does sound interesting. Some day I might call my foam distributor outlet and ask them about it, maybe go look at it if they carry it. I find it difficult to believe that it rivals latex. My experience with HR foam of various types is that it feels much more "dead" than latex; actually more like Dunlop processed latex, but less firm. So I have not been a fan of it after experimenting with it for about 2-3 years and getting nowhere good. However if this Pluralux is different it might be worth a try. I hope you try it so you can do a review of it here! We need a guinea pig! I hope Budgy will weigh in on this. Maybe he has or can get some "inside" info on it.
