Anyone know anything about this? Someone sent a link to me about this:

This is from their web page:

"Pluralux™ Foam Outperforms Latex Foam

Latex foam is often marketed in the luxury bedding segment as a long lasting, highly resilient, highly comfortable bedding material. But Pluralux™ foam may be a better choice. Data shows that Pluralux™ foam exhibits excellent feel and resilience properties while outperforming talalay latex with respect to pressure relief, support, dynamic fatigue, tensile and tear properties. Unlike latex, Pluralux™ foam can be made to meet the California Technical Bulletin 117* flame and smoldering tests.

Pluralux™ foam, made from Pluracol® materials, maintains a high level of performance in "comfort" products. These foams exhibit outstanding resilience, support and durability properties. They absorb and distribute energy to relieve pressure points. Pluralux™ foam is an excellent material choice in producing mattress cores or padding for the luxury bedding segment.

*This numerical flame spread rating, as in other flammability tests, is not intended to reflect hazards by this or any other material under actual fire conditions."

Jim, thanks for posting the inquiry on Pluralux after exchanging some PMs with you.

I have just contacted their rep to see if I can get a list of foam manufacturers producing the Pluralux from the base chemicals that BASF sells.  I'll let you know what I find out.

In addition to that pdf/powerpoint link, they also have a nice paper online documenting some of the tests they have done in more detail.

It sure does sound interesting. Some day I might call my foam distributor outlet and ask them about it, maybe go look at it if they carry it. I find it difficult to believe that it rivals latex. My experience with HR foam of various types is that it feels much more "dead" than latex; actually more like Dunlop processed latex, but less firm. So I have not been a fan of it after experimenting with it for about 2-3 years and getting nowhere good.

However if this Pluralux is different it might be worth a try.

I hope you try it so you can do a review of it here! We need a guinea pig! wink

I hope Budgy will weigh in on this. Maybe he has or can get some "inside" info on it.
