Hi there,
I have a brand new and very comfortable kingsize Sealy latex mattress with 1.5 inches of (not memory) foam on each side. Where I live, you need to buy two single bed bases to put together under the mattress. Currently, I have two good quality hardwood slat bases, with the slats lining up exactly at the height of the edges, and a thin fabric sheet covering the top. However, when you are on the mattress, you can definitely notice that up the centre, it is slightly raised and feels "harder". This is surely due to the long solid edges of the two bed bases going from head to foot, even though the slats are at exactly the same height. Does anyone have a suggestion of either a different type of bed base, or a way to improve the ones I have? For example, they sell here the same type of bed base with 1/2 inch of foam along the top of the slats, but I worry that I'll still have the same "edge" problem!
