Question about FBM durability

How much will a 5" slab of LUX-R soften over time? I am a 250lbs man and I need a firm mattress for my lower back. I have been on a merry-go-round with all the bedding products I own. I have said 5" LUX-R resting on a quality platform bed (I even put pegboard over the slats for a totally flat, breathable surface), a 3" Dunlop "soft" topper from Savvy Rest, and a wool topper. It's a brick. However, that is only after one night. I can feel the foam wanting to "give" and am hoping it will conform to my body shape. Imagine, hoping for a body impression! The latex from Savvy Rest has really just pancaked. I am reluctant to buy a softer layer until I can feel how much the LUX-R will breakdown. Keep in mind this is the "R," not the "HQ" Lux from FBM.
