First of all thanks to all of the conntributors on this forumn.  I have learned so much in such a short time.  This is my first post

I need help in comparing the Aerus foam topper sold by Rocky Mt againnst the Talalay latex foam topper sold by Foam By Mail.  The topper will be used on top of a conventional firm mattress and box spring.

I weigh 195lbs and my wife weighs 115lbs.  We both sleep on our sides.  I am looking for a topper that will be the coolest in the Summer and with the most motion transfer reduction.  In either case I was thinking of the 3inch size.  The Rocky Mt website advertises the  Aerus to be the most efficient of foam toppers when it comes to dissipating heat.

I welcome your thoughts

What you are comparing is quite different in feel.  The Sensus is lovely memory foam, and of the memory foams, it is one of the coolest.  However, memory foam sleeps hot in general, so that doesn't necessarily mean cool.

Latex is a completely different feel.  It is more supportive and, to me, bouncy.  It doesn't have the reputation for sleeping hot.  The feel of memory foam is sink-y, it does not have any rebound, or bounce.  Some say it is like sinking in wet cement.

So the determining factor is what you feel like you prefer, I suppose.  If it is to soften your mattress, the memory foam is soft.

When my husband and I tried toppers, he liked the latex best, whereas I felt like I woke up every time I turned over...it bounced me awake.

I liked the memory foam best, because it was like whipped cream...but he didn't like the feeling.  So I just got a twin for my side.

Hope this helps a little...
