ok I have finally given in to the fact that my 5 month old Serta I Comfort Prodigy was the culprit of my hip pain and much more.. have left the bed for a 25 year old in the guest room and hip pain gone..unreal.. am out major dollars and now looking at a good coil mattress..found one that felt good and the company I am dealing with says a complete refund if after 30 days you are not liking it..however want to know if anyone is happy with their Simmons or what the story is with these.. I have never laid on so many uncomfortable mattresses as I did yesterday..and these are not cheap ones.. AND... this same mattress with the refund deal is 1000 more than online.. what a mark-up these bandits have...if I don't find something for me to sleep on soon my husband will commit me..!! The Arrowind uses the Smart Response Simmons coil that they introduced about a year ago. My experience with it has been exemplary and it is arguably one of the better coils on the market today.
That said, the specific model you're looking at is ROCK HARD. It will NOT get much softer. What position do you sleep in? If it's side (the most common) this is likely a horrible choice for you.
The support in the Arrowind is not the question. The concern I have is with the pressure relief. Your best option (short of trying the bed for 30 days) is to wear some comfortable clothes and go lie down on the thing for 30 minutes without a salesguy yapping in your ear. If you can do that without feeling the need to turn that's a good sign.
I would strongly advise you against using a topper with the new bed. Simmons also makes a plush model in the same line that you may wish to try. It all depends on your body and sleeping habits.
Goodluck!
