Hi everyone! A brief history:
Needless to say, based on all I'd read, I had high hopes for this mattress from SleepEZ. But, to date, we just can't seem to get it right and I am still waking up with back pain.
So, I am running out of ideas and combinations. I was really hoping the latex would provide me with pain free sleep. I really have no idea what to do now! Now that I have been up a few hours, my back is fine, but when I first woke up today, my first breath in was so painful b/c the musles in my middle back were not happy at all. Any comments, ideas, or recommendations would be much appreciated! I've also read that elevating the top end of your bed might help. Any truth to that? |

A few nights ago, I tried this combo: 2" soft dunlop / 3" firm dunlop / 2" med talalay / 3" med dunlop. Good for my husband. Terrible pain for me. Too firm??" i thought SleepEZ mattresses were different on each side but from what you are saying I gather they are not or at least the one you have is not. It sounds like what you need is one feel for your side of the mattress and a different feel for your husband's side. I struggled with similar problems for years and although I now have my mattress "mostly" good, I still wake up with back pain, especially if I am in bed more than 8 hours. Personally I think maybe you - like my wife and I - might not be a candidate for a pure latex mattress. You might need springs or something springy under your latex layers. So if you can still return the SleepEZ, I would certainly consider that option before it's too late (if it's not already). You might also try buying some 1-2" latex layers to fit each half or your mattress so that you can customize the feel for you and your husband. |
