I just moved to the townhouse and the box spring for my doble mattress does't fit the way upstairs to the bedroom. Please help. Any advice?

1.  Ditch it and go buy a split box spring or split foundation.   (What I'm calling a foundation is just an upholstered platform, no springs of any kind.)   I lucked into a FREE queen split foundation that people were giving away on Craigslist.   The foundation without springs will stiffen up the mattress.   If you want shock absorbers, buy a split box spring.

2.  Cut it and fold it.   (at your own risk, of course)  There are several videos on You Tube that show how / where to saw a box spring.  Some people put hinges on theirs aferward.  Some just folded the sawn spring in half and put a rope or strap around it to keep it folded while moving it.
