Just wondering if it is ok to use a traditional boxspring with a latex mattress. I see most are offered with a slat type foundation so I just wanted to make sure. Thanks.

There have been people here who use their existing box spring, I would try it and if it doesn't work then replace it.

Thanks. I would be purchasing a new boxspring locally. I haven’t seen any foundations that are near the same price, but I haven’t specifically looked for them either.

Yes, you can, and I find that my latex toppers-over-springs mattress is much better with the box springs than without.

In buying a box springs, though, remember that not all of them are really box springs anymore. Many of the new ones are just boxes, made from wood with no "spring". (The spring isn't usually a "spring" either, rather it is usually a metal wire of thick gauge that serves to put some "give" under the mattress while also keep it flat.)
