After doing research for a few weeks I'm inclined into buying a talalay setup. I was planing on going with something similar to this setup http://www.whatsthebest-mattress.com/forum/my-foambymail-diy-mattress-report-pictures/24739-0-1.html 6" 36 ILD core 2" 32 ILD mid-core 2" 20 ILD topper I might just order the 36 and 32 to see how stiff is the mattress and latter get a topper depending on how i'm liking the mattress.
After reading the recent luck/improvements with the fbm orders i was inclined on going with them due to the cost difference with other brands. I called FBM today and they dont have what im looking for in stock for California king. So i'm open to suggestions. I live in Houston and the only place i found that had latex the prices were pretty high. This is the mattress we liked the most from them http://www.omimattress.com/Lago.php I'm looking for something similar to the Omi mattress but that doesnt break the bank.
Thanks for the help. |

I will try to find additional places locally were i they sell latex mattress. The reason i was inclined on the FBM was because of the $$.

I'm looking into DIY latex beds and am interested in doing this build for myself. The one thing I'd like to do differently is to add vertical zones. I'm a side sleeper so a softer shoulder area would be great. Does anyone have tips on how to go about zoning a bed like this? The only thought I had was to replace the ILD 32 mid core with ILD 20 near the top. I'd like to also reduce the firmness of the top layer but I'm not sure how to do that. If I do zone the top layer I'm thinking I should get a 1" layer to cover the seam. Would a Sensus MF 1" be good for that?
Some extra info about me: 5' 11", 130 lbs, male, side sleeper. |
